It seems that opportunistic politics of Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray failed to work in Ayodhya. Uddhav Thackeray had planned a big rally and show of strength in Ayodhya but finally he had to settle himself by launching tirade against the BJP over the issue of Ram Temple.
In Ayodhya, Uddhav was upstaged by the combined strength of the RSS-VHP and the true believers in Ram’s cause. This time, BJP MLAs strongly answered Uddhav’s rant against the BJP. On Sunday, hitting back at Uddhav Thackeray, BJP MLA Surendra Singh said, “How can Shiv Sena hijack the issue? The people who thrash north Indians and drive them out, who don’t even have the mentality to serve humanity, how will they serve Lord Ram?”
While talking to Patrika the Pithadishwarwar of Sagara Ashram- Bal Brahmachari Shivayogi Hari Chaitanya Mouni Maharaj- said that Uddhav Thackeray has no concern for the Ram Temple and he just wants to prepare his strong political ground but will not get any success in it. The entire state knows that Uddhav has failed in handling Maharashtra. He also raised question over Uddhav’s visit to Ayodhya.
Mouni Maharaj asked how can someone who is not faithful to the country could be faithful to Bhagwan Ram. While expressing happiness over the gathering of thousands of saints in Dharm Sabha in Ayodhya, Mouni Maharaj said that construction of the grand Ram Temple does neither need Uddhav’s co-operation nor helping hand.
Mouni Maharaj further said that Shiv Sainiks are coming to Ayodhya to practice vote bank politics. Another reason for them to come here is that people of Uttar Pradesh are present in significant number in Maharashtra and are capable of impacting the result of any election in Maharashtra. We feel that supremacy of Shiv Sena is over. By politicizing this issue, Uddhav Thackeray wants to establish the lost supremacy of Shiv Sena again. The saint did not stop here and went on to add that Shiv Sainiks have nothing to do with Ram. How these Shiv Sainiks who ousted the people of Uttar Pradesh will support Bhagwan Ram?
The Pithadishwarwar also contested Shiv Sena’s claim that they demolished the Babri mosque. Mouni Maharaj said that real credit to demolish the mosque goes to Pawan Pandey who was in the Shiv Sena at the time of demolition. He belonged to our area, but Shiv Sena chief wants to give credit to Shiv Sainiks of Maharashtra which is wrong. Pawan Pandey was present at the time of the demolition of the Babri Masjid, and that’s why he is also an accused in the case. Uddhav Thackeray who is critical of people of Uttar Pradesh now has come to Uttar Pradesh for political reasons.
Mouni Maharaj concluded by saying that doing politics over Bhagwan Ram’s won’t help the case. Those who want Bhagwan Ram should chant his name. If one wants votes then can go back to his home.
Mouni Maharaj is very well aware of Uddhav Thackeray’s intention and others too who seek to get some votes out of the issue. The failure of Uddhav Thackeray in drawing large crowds in Ayodhya validates his opportunistic attack on the BJP. This move by Shiv Sena chief fails to draw any traction from the commoners. Earlier, the district administration had also denied permission for his rally but Uddhav went as per his plans and failed badly.
