Though not as entertaining as his father, Tej Pratap is still able to attract the camera lenses today. In the ongoing saga of his short term marriage, Tej Pratap has come out with several new revelations.
Just a few days ago, he was in the news for filing a divorce petition at a family court in Patna after tying the knot with Aishwarya Rai in a high-profile ceremony attended by over 10,000 guests at the sprawling veterinary college grounds on May 12, ’18. Even Lalu Yadav, jailed in connection with the fodder scam, was granted three-day parole to give his blessings to the happy couple.
The marriage was an extravagant affair wherein the venue was sprawled with people in abundance who were even fighting over food, rather looting not just food but also cutlery including plates, spoons, and glasses.
Former Deputy Chief Minister & Tej Pratap’s younger brother had to apologize for the mismanagement. He tweeted, “The wedding venue which is spread over several acres turned out to be very small in comparison to the large turnout of guests”. He linked the mismanagement to his father & RJD Supremo Lalu Yadav’s popularity as he said that they didn’t anticipate such a huge footfall coming to Veterinary College ground to bless the couple in presence of their beloved leader. As he tweeted, “Had I reckoned that lacs and lacs of people will come to the marriage venue to bless Tej Pratap and Aishwarya in presence of their beloved leader Lalu Prasad Yadav I would have organized the marriage at the Gandhi Maidan which is a bigger place. I apologize for the inconvenience that has been caused to the guests”.
Seems nothing could actually work in the span of 6 months between Tej Pratap & Aishwarya for which we’ve our sympathies!
The separation has been sought invoking Section 13 A of the Hindu Marriage Act under which either spouse can unilaterally seek divorce, said lawyer Yashwant Kumar Sharma, who filed the petition on behalf of Tej Pratap at a civil court in Patna. The matter has been listed for hearing on November 29. On being questioned on this development he denied giving any answers as he said, “I cannot give much details. I was only told by my client that he and his wife were not compatible and hence he wanted divorce.”
There were news floating around of Aishwarya likely to contest Lok Sabha Election in 2019 from Chapra constituency, as there were hoardings up on the streets of Bihar on RJD’s foundation where she was seen placed alongside Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, Tej Pratap Yadav & Tejaswvi Yadav. On the other hand, Tej Pratap Yadav is all set to be launched as an actor in a movie titled, ‘Rudra-The Avtar’.
Today, talking to media persons, Tej Pratap said, “Everybody from my father to my mother and my siblings have left my side to stand in solidarity with my wife. Even so, I will not go back on my decision.” He further added, “I’m the North Pole and she’s the South Pole. My wife and I have fought in front of my parents, and I don’t want to live with her anymore. There’s no point living unhappily like this.”
Incidentally, Tej Pratap’s mother Rabri Devi had said last year that she wants ‘sanskari bahu’ instead of mall-going women for her two sons, which actually was subjected to a lot of criticism on twitter. Seems Mrs. Aishwarya Tej Pratap Yadav or probably soon to be again Ms. Rai, couldn’t stand upto ‘sasu ma ki ummedein’ but going by Tej’s statement, now everyone is still taking the side of Aishwarya.
While everyone at family hoped that the matter would be sorted out after Tej Pratap’s meeting with RJD Supremo Lalu Yadav at Ranchi’s Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, things did not turn out as expected. “I will stick to my decision. I will wait for my father to come home and discuss it with my family, but I will stick to my decision,” Tej Pratap told media persons. To everyone’s concern, the shake-up in Tej Pratap’s domestic life seems to be taking a toll on Lalu Yadav’s health too. Hospital sources said his blood pressure and sugar levels have been fluctuating ever since his son approached the court.
There were reports in the media making rounds that Aishwarya wanted Lok Sabha seat for her father Chandrika Prasad Rai from Saran constituency and was continuously making pressure on Tej Pratap regarding this. Aishwarya Rai too hails from a political family background. Her grandfather, Daroga Rai was the Chief Minister of Bihar, her father Chandrika Rai is a former minister and a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader. Miss Rai graduated from Miranda House in History (Hons.) and completed her management degree from Amity University.
Tej also accused Aishwarya that she wanted to go to Bali, Indonesia for honeymoon but since he is of spiritual orientation that could not happen. Furthermore, he added, “Aishwarya is of high-society and her education also doesn’t match with his.” Upon being questioned on the possibilities of deterioration of his political career, he said, “I’ll make a career for myself wherever I go being of spiritual orientation.”
A family which was already under strain and was trying to revive its political fortunes, this unfortunate divorce saga would only further complicate their problems.
