According to the reports, the BJP has chosen Sri Peetham seer Swami Paripoornananda to lead BJP’s poll campaign in Telangana. He also reportedly met with party general secretary Ram Madhav and UP CM Yogi Adityanath. Swami Paripoornananda is also called as the Yogi of South. If rumors are to be believed then the BJP might declare him as the chief ministerial candidate from Telangana. There are also rumors that the saffron party will ask him to contest from the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat. According to an article from the The New Indian Express he is all set to spearhead the campaign for the BJP in the south.

According to a New Indian Express report, after the meeting, Swami Paripoornananda claimed that the BJP president Amit Shah had invited him for the meeting. Swami said, “We held detailed deliberations on dharma and values of the country. We also discussed future plans. All decisions are to be made by Amit Shah, I will do whatever he wants me to do.” He also added, “The guidelines too would be announced by Amit Shah. I have no personal interests.”

Swami Paripoornananda also hinted that final plans would be revealed only after Navaratri, as he will celebrate Dussehra at Sree Peetham. After the Dussehra celebrations, he might spearhead the campaign for BJP. It was already expected that the BJP will definitely ask him to join the party.

Last month, Sri Peetham seer Swami Paripoornananda who was externed from Hyderabad for six months, received a grand welcome on his re-entry into the city. Thousands of BJP, VHP, RSS, Bajrang Dal volunteers and common folks gathered all along the Vijayawada-Hyderabad national highway and enthusiastically welcomed Swami Paripoornananda. The rally welcoming Swami Paripoornananda was called Dharma Jwala Yatra. Swami Paripoornananda enjoys a wide follower base in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He is often called as “Yogi of the South.”

BJP, VHP, RSS and Bajrang Dal workers chanted slogans of Jai Sri Ram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai on the return of Swami Paripoornananda Ji . The spirited welcome prompted him to say, “I am externed from the city alone, but I have returned with thousands (sic.)” He further added, “I was externed from the city because I am a sanyasi. Instead of externing goons and anti-nationals, cops externed me. This kind of situation doesn’t exist even in Pakistan. It is illegal on the part of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda police to extern me.  An anti-Hindu government is ruling in Telangana, and it is time for the Hindus to unite. I am ready to die for the Dharma.” BJP MLA Raja Singh had accompanied Swami Paripoornanada upon his re-entry into the district.

He was externed from Hyderabad for six months on charges of making inflammatory statements in public. However, Hyderabad High Court suspended the orders of the police which paved the way for early re-entry of Swami Ji into the city.

Swami Paripoornananda- “Yogi of the South”- is very popular among Hindus and tribal communities of the region. Swami Paripoornananda is a well known Hindu figure in almost all the southern states with millions of followers. His devotion to country is admired by many people. His entry into BJP would improve the party’s prospects in the state of Telangana as well as outside the state in other regions of the south. What BJP needs in the south is a crowd puller, a popular leader, Swami Paripoornananda could fulfill that void at least in Telangana and Andhra region.
