Trump unable to visit India on Republic Day, The Print gives it an imaginative twist

print, trump

India has a tradition of inviting esteemed guests at its Republic day celebrations. PM Modi has managed to get the likes of Obama, Hollande, Shinzo Abe on the dias of Republic Day and that too when showers, most of the times, drizzled in Delhi and Obamas, particularly, under umbrella extolled the Indian acrobats. It was the same Modi governement at the centre which brought at the occasion of Republic Day, the leaders of the ASEAN states  and that happened this year only. Donald Trump was supposed to make his first tour of India in the capacity of the US President next year in 2019 but there’s a thing called ‘State of the Union’ address. On this occasion, the President of the United States addresses the nation.

Well, some media outlets do not have to do anything with that and they, with their genuine ‘Modi-phoebia’ as ever, have not refrained from linking it to the failure of Modi Adminstration’s foreign policy. As per the White House, Jan 30th, the most probable date for next year’s State of the Union address gives no room for Donald Trump to make a hurried tour to India and then be back in USA in time for the address. Even the Air Force One takes more than 16 hours to take the president back to India and this triviality and irrational conduct on the part of some media outlets deserves a total discard.
The Print, a media outlet, rather an irrelevant web portal which already is canvassed under the mission to demean the National Interest has in its report tried to malign the fact with their prejudiced notion.

As per The Print’s report- some sources reveal to it that US officials had already conveyed to Vijay Gokhale, the Indian Foreign Secretary when he toured US in August this year that Trump would not be available in Indian Republic Day celebrations as he would be consumed by commitments in US itself. Gohkale was on an official tour to prepare for 2+2 ministerial level talks.
To further their nefarious agenda, the Print goes on to report that Donald Trump would never like to watch Indian troops carrying Russian arsenals marching infront of him. To be a bit rational, the international dynamics does never run on such trivial things and world leaders seldom possess that thought process.

As it appears, the Print gave twist to a simple issue of conflict of scheduling to some Bollywood-esque agenda of ‘jealousy’ and ‘hubris’.

On the other hand, the White House spokesperson clarified that due to scheduling constraints, President Trump would not able to attend Indian Republic Day Celebration.
The spokesperson said, ” President Trump was honoured by Prime Minister Modi’s invitation for him to be the Chief Guest of India’s Republic Day on January 26, 2019, but is unable to participate due to scheduling constraints.”

Whenever, a shift or a slight fluctuation takes place in the international arena, media outlets as such instead of supporting the own establishment or even giving balanced insights start desperate search of loopholes in the nation itself.
