Piyush Goyal exposes ‘Made-in’ initiative of Rahul Gandhi

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal is known for being a man who lets his actions do the talking rather than using words to demolish the opposition. There is however, a way with words that the Union Minister possesses and it is indeed as impressive as his actions. Countering Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s frequent half-truths, Piyush Goyal, characteristically, laid bare Gandhi scion’s claims on Rae Bareli Coach factory located in Amethi. Probably the most memorable quote by Piyush Goyal was when he mentioned that BJP’s motto was to fulfil the goal of Mahatma Gandhi “that Congress should wind up shop” in India.

He also added, “On one hand, we will make India #CongressMukt, and on the other, we will make it Poverty Mukt (sic).”The Railway Minister absolutely demolished Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s  new found campaign cliche ‘Made in-where-ever-I-am.’.

Rahul Gandhi has won the Amethi constituency three times in a row. Prior to him too Amethi had been a Congress stronghold. The Rae Bareli coach factory started production only in 2014 under the NDA rule while it had been functional since 2007 under the UPA regime. Piyush Goyal pointed out that the Raebareli coach factory which came under the Amethi constituency had been unproductive till 2013, in 2014 it took a thrust from the BJP government to make the factory productive. In 2017 alone, the factory had produced 700 coaches while it is projected to produce 1500 coaches by the end of this year and the next year’s goal is to produce 3,000 coaches in the factory.

These comments from the Union Minister prove that Rahul Gandhi’s speeches of ‘Made in’ which were so lavishly used in every region of Madhya Pradesh, were nothing but another attempt of selling empty dreams to the people of the country. To expect Rahul Gandhi to change the face of the country is a far flung thought considering he could not even make a railway coach factory in his own constituency productive in more than 10 years. Piyush Goyal also went on to add that in the 70 years of Indian independence the country has been ruled by a single family, the Nehru-Gandhi, for over 48 years. There is a lot  the Congress is yet to own up for and it will take a lot of time before the Congress president can claim that his party can change the prospects of the country. In his characteristic manner, armed with fact and logic, Piyush Goyal countered the lies of Rahul Gandhi and one by one, exposed the hollowness of Rahul’s ‘Made-in’ initiative.

Earlier, Union Minister Smriti Irani had also attacked the the inefficacy of Rahul Gandhi as the elected leader of Amethi citing the status of rail coach factory. A series of tweets by Smriti Irani had clearly pointed out not only how the production of the rail factory had increased, but had also achieved peak status only under the leadership of PM Modi.

As of today the Congress stands on shaky grounds, its campaign is a mess thanks to the leader who stands at the helm. Piyush Goyal has carried out a timely attack to demolish the lies which Rahul Gandhi would have thought of peddling in the days to come, especially in Madhya Pradesh and other states which are going to polls in 2018.
