Senior BJP leader, former Defence minister and the current Goa Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar is fighting pancreatic ailment. However, according to the Congress party, Manohar Parrikar is not only dead but the BJP is putting deliberate attempts to hide this news from everyone.
To quote Congress spokesperson [Goa unit] Jitendra Deshprabhu, “Yes, we are taking that call. It is an extreme call that the honourable Chief Minister may not be there at all………..a coterie of officials around the Chief Minister were ‘illegally’ taking decisions in his absence. BJP and BJP led coalition should prove that Manohar Parrikar is alive.”
Many media reports have quoted Mr. Deshprabhu saying, “At least they should release a video showing that the Chief Minister is walking, speaking and working. There is no bulletin or any doctor speaking on his health condition.”
The desire of Congress to see Manohar Parrikar doing some activity has well been satiated. Yesterday, pictures of Manohar Parrikar conducting a meeting with Goa Investment Promotion Board at his residence in Panaji, surfaced on the social media.
CM Manohar Parrikar also met the Goa Legislative Assembly speaker Pramod Sawant yesterday.

Manohar Parrikar shows an amazing resilience and is fighting cancer bravely. However, his illness has heightened the excitement of the Congress leaders, waiting with their 16 MLAs to seize this opportunity in order to form government in the state. Last month, the Congress party staked the claim to form the alternative government in the state, alleging ‘breakdown’ of the administration due to an alleged ‘infighting within the ruling coalition’. There were reports that Goa Forward Party (GFP) was unconvinced of the BJP’s move of temporarily giving an edge to the leader of MGP in decision-making. The Congress hoped the GFP along with its three members, to withdraw its support from the BJP, extend support to the Congress and finally, the Congress will be able to install a coalition government in Goa.
With an indomitable character, Parrikar has managed the state and the coalition partners despite being seriously ill. Manohar Parrikar managed the administrative and governmental machinery working in the state from a hospital bed in AIIMS. The spirit displayed by Manohar Parrikar shows that there is no governance or constitutional crisis in the state.
Since Manohar Parrikar re-took his oath as the Goa CM, the Goa Congress has cursed his existence. Despite winning the most number of seats, the Congress unit had failed to stake claim for the government and meanwhile, other parties agreed to ally on the condition that Manohar Parrikar would be the CM of Goa.
As a result, the man who in the capacity of India’s Defence Minister broke the protocol to assist the armed forces in launching surgical strikes against Pakistani terrorists resigned from his post to serve the people of Goa once again.
However, ever since Manohar Parrikar has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, Congress has been fighting tooth and nail to usurp power. They tried every trick in their book to grab power in the state as mentioned above.
