Wolves in sheep skin, is a saying which can be applied to many pseudo liberals and wannabe feminists who run free in all circles of life today. A common trait shared by these so called liberals is that they take the moral high ground to preach like a prophet to all barring none. They assume that everyone is beneath them and all are equally gullible, who need immediate saving, especially the womenfolk. The perverse acts of these ‘Illuminatis’ of the Indian society therefore remain hidden; women and men equally keep their silence when they face sexual or verbal harassment from these so called feminists/liberals, fearing backlash and ridicule from their followers on social media. There are tipping points in every situation, when the balance of power is restored. One such incident happened yesterday when a writer and upcoming standup comic, Mahima Kukreja, took to social media to call out one such self-proclaimed pseudo-liberal/feminist named Utsav Chakrabarty who used to harass unsuspecting women on social media platforms.
Mahima Kukreja came out to challenge Utsav and this led to a domino effect, many others girls who were waiting for an opportunity to vent their anger and frustration came out on social media. It turned out that Utsav was not alone in this, many others from the left cabal which comprises of members from the mainstream media, standup comedy scene too turned out to be sexual predators who used the facade of liberalism to pursue their vile intentions. Shamir Reuben, is another upcoming poet who was accused of being guilty of harassing women online, asking for sexual favours by an under-aged woman named Sakina Bootwala. It turned out Sakina too was not alone in being harassed by the young, anti-government and more importantly a liberal, free thinking anti-Modi poet who was considered to be a vocal supporter of feminism onstage and through his writings. At least 20 more women came out to blame Shamir on Facebook and Twitter, shockingly some of them revealed that they were minors when Shamir had tried to get close to them using perverted messages on social media.
Anoo Bhuyan, a reporter for The Wire and other victims too have come out to make public the vile acts of Mayank Jain, another predator who used to work formerly for Scroll and Bloomberg Quint. This exposé adds to the long list of media personnel from the left wing that have been found and accused to be guilty of crimes against women. Mayank Jain turned out to be a habitual offender who had previously too apologised several times to the various women who had dared to reveal their stories of sexual harassment meted out by the writer. Anurag Verma is another name from the media industry who has accused of sexual harassment. The HuffPost India worker had used his Snapchat and other social media apps to reach and harass young girls, a liberal user of messages like ‘send nudes’, Anurag had claimed that using these terms were an attempt on his part to be funny.
The case of startup investor and AAP supporter, Mahesh Murthy is also quite well known in the media circles. Managing partner of Seedfund, Mahesh Murthy had remained a vocal opponent of the PM Modi government and had maintained a pro-AAP outlook throughout his career. Murthy was picked up by the Mumbai police after a Delhi-based woman complained against him at the National Commission of Women (NCW) citing sexual harassment and stalking charges on social media platforms in December 2017. His name added to the list of other illustrious men from the left cabal who were absolute hypocrites and were inept in the art of practising what they preached.
The problem with the left dominated circles such as mainstream media and academia is that it is increasingly becoming the only way to become ‘cool’ in the shortest span of time possible. No wonder these guys from platforms like AIB, EIC and mainstream media sources gain prominence from attacking government establishments and even the PM with little or no knowledge of what is going on in the real world. The spotlight which they gain by attacking the government makes them feel like they are all powerful, beyond the clutches of law. It also serves their purpose by making them popular, thus increasing the size of the net which is used to trap potential victims. Women in particular feel shame in coming out in the open with their stories of harassment, more so when the perpetrators of the crime are well-known, ‘cool’ men who enjoy the distinction of being liberals and feminists in the outside world. All it takes for the facade to break down is a single instance of a woman having had enough. Mahima Kukreja’s revelations have given other women to come out with their tales of sexual harassment meted out at the hands of liberal/feminist brigade of the left. The efforts of the liberal cabal to save them from the wrath of the public on social media has drastically failed, but these members of the left cabal too need to be punished for shielding one of their own against sexual harassment charges. It is a pit in which members of AIB and EIC keep falling while attempting to help their so-called liberal friends. Their hypocrisy is exposed and thankfully this time the women are in no mood to forgive, better late than never.
