Anurag Kashyap admits he knew about sexual harassment allegation against Vikas Bahl and did nothing

If Mahima Kukreja can be remembered for anything in the future, it is for exposing the charade of AIB by revealing the perverted psyche of their core member Utsav Chakraborty, which triggered an entire volley of cases being shot at the face of the elite brigade of the Indian entertainment industry.

In cue with the expose fest, a startling revelation has left the darling of the liberal masses i.e. filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, red faced and his future ambitions in jeopardy. An ex crew member of Anurag’s pet project, Phantom films, has accused one of the co founders and celebrated filmmaker, Vikas Bahl of sexual assault, following which she had to quit, when her requests to proceed with the investigations fell on the deaf ears.

In an interview, the victim, who chose to keep her name secret (note later below), the victim narrated her ordeal. It was a week before the release of Bombay Velvet when a promotional party was conducted by Phantom films. Following which most retired to their rooms, including the victim who was, admittedly, inebriated. However, she could recollect her senses and noticed that Vikas Bahl, who had earlier left the party apparently, had crept into her room, posing as a drunk. She tried to keep her cool and slept at a distance when all hell broke loose.

As per the records, Vikas Bahl sexually assaulted her, and when she resisted, he openly masturbated beside her. Vikas Bahl even abused her as he left soon. Shocked, the victim approached the other founders, including Anurag Kashyap, as well as the concerned authorities, but none came to her assistance, following which she quit. Almost three years later, her pleas were finally accepted, and the preliminary investigations have been launched.

Now for some, this may seem far fetched, since Huffington Post is notorious for their biased, left leaning, even regressive coverage. However, two back to back decisions by Anurag Kashyap confirmed that not only the victim might be correct, but like AIB, the top brass, including Anurag Kashyap, did know about the gravity of the situation, but chose to do nothing.

When interviewed, Anurag Kashyap confirmed that he as aware of the situation and he ‘failed the victim’. Immediately after Anurag Kashyap had this interview, he announced that Phantom Films will be dissolved with immediate effect. As of now, Vikas Bahl refused to comment, and going by this incident, it is now doubtful if his next venture, ‘Super 30’, starring Hrithik Roshan, will ever see the light of the day.

With this, Anurag Kashyap also stands exposed as a hypocrite who never does what he says to. We’re no strangers to how he behaved during the lynching episodes, or in the Kathua case, where he painted along with the entire cabal an entire religion as rapist. He promoted himself as a champion of women’s causes, especially in the Manmarziyaan. But with this case, it looks as if all his preaching went for a toss. We salute the lady for not bowing down to such hypocrites and keeping her ground. We hope that she gets justice soon.
