Bharatiya Janata Party has won many states under the leadership of PM Modi and party president Amit Shah. Now with five state elections lined up for the end of 2018 and the all important Lok Sabha 2019 elections fast approaching the party is planning to start the preparations with full gusto. Amit Shah reminded party workers in Telangana that BJP’s victory in 2019 would be incomplete if the party did not win seats in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and other states. Amit Shah has proven his organizational competency countless times and has won many states for his party, therefore the chances of the party of winning seats in West Bengal and other non-BJP ruled states are at an all time high. Bengal unit of the BJP wants to rope in Amit Shah, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal for the Rath Yatra planned in the state. The West Bengal state unit of BJP has planned three Rath Yatras which will cover 14 constituencies each of the Lok Sabha, the Rath Yatra will therefore cover all 42 constituencies of the state.

The first Rath Yatra has been planned for December which will start from the Tarapith temple city of Birbhum district, Amit Shah is likely to lead this rally. The second rally will be headed by Yogi Adityanath and is scheduled to begin from Gangasagar, while the third rally headed by Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal will begin from Cooch Behar district of West Bengal. Preparations for the three Rath Yatras are likely to begin soon after the Durga Puja as said by BJP state unit head Dilip Ghosh.

Talking about the plans for the Rath Yatra, Dilip Ghosh said, “The first Rath yatra will start from the temple town of Tarapith in Birbhum district on December 3. Party president Amit Shah is likely to take part in it,” he further added, “He is very keen on taking part in all the three yatras. But his dates need to be worked out. Union ministers, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states and senior party leaders will take part in the rally.” This shows that BJPs central leadership recognizes the importance to win seats in West Bengal and is all set to back up the decision taken by its state unit president. The results of the recently held panchayat polls in the state have proved that BJP is more than capable of winning more seats in the Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal than the measly 2 seats it currently holds. The promise to hold NRC in the state if BJP is voted into power was also announced a few months back by the president of state unit of the party. All it needs to win over the voters of the state is a message, that it is ready to face off against the goons and criminals of TMC. Organizing the Rath Yatra, therefore, is a masterstroke considering it will not only dispel all doubts over BJP’s intentions for solidly contesting in the state but will also unite and solidify its voter base.

BJP has emerged as the biggest opposition to TMC in the state as it looks all set to retain its position in the centre in the 2019 elections. It is therefore, trying to increase its chances of winning seats in constituencies which were organically opposed to it. The results of state assembly elections in Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and other states have proved that the party is more than capable of making inroads into alien territories. With Amit Shah and CM Yogi Adityanath acting as its star campaigners the party will definitely be able to get more seats in the coming elections. The duo of Amit Shah and PM Modi is all set to win over seats more seats in 2019 and the Rath of BJPs success will definitely win over new territories too.
