The Congress party, from the past few months, has been valiantly trying to project Rafale deal as a scam. Their allegations have not found much support among the public. This is mainly because the Congress Party and their coteries in the media are leveling allegations without any substantial evidence to back up their claims and partly because Gandhi family and Congress party have been involved in so many scams that nobody trusts anything they say.

Not just public, even the opposition parties and even the ally of the Congress party are also not giving any audience to its absurd claims with respect to the Rafale deal. The Congress party even called PM Modi a ‘thief’ on the issue of Rafael deal. However, a key Congress ally-NCP- doesn’t agree with such disrespectful label to the Prime Minister of the nation. The NCP has given clean chit to PM Modi.

NCP chief and former Defence Minister- Sharad Pawar- in an interview to a Marathi news channel said that people still don’t have any doubts on PM Modi’s intentions. He also said that opposition’s demand to share technical details of Rafale fighter “made no sense” at all.

Sharad Pawar’s comment has come as a major embarrassment to the Congress party which is desperately trying to project clean Rafale deal as scam. The Congress’ Rafale crusade is not only limited to undermining the government. The Congress party is doing dirty politics over the issue of Rafale deal to unite the scattered opposition, who refused to accept inept and incompetent Rahul Gandhi as their leader, through common cause. For which Congress thinks Rafale deal is an ace in their hands. However, so far, almost none of the opposition leaders have shown any interest on supporting the Congress on Rafale (barring usual suspect Kejriwal).

Instead, it looks like the Congress’ aim to unite the opposition on Rafale is backfiring as far as comments of NCP chief Sharad Pawar on entire Rafale controversy are concerned. Sharad Pawar has made it very clear that integrity of PM Modi should not be questioned. From the comments of Sharad Pawar it looks like everything is not well with the NCP and the Congress. If it is so then it will only hurt the ambitions of the Congress party to form an anti-BJP grand alliance.

Also after the link of Robert Vadra’s close aide-Sanjay Bhandari in Rafale controversy has come to limelight it is very clear that Rafale cacophony is harming the Congress party more than the BJP. As per recent reports, Robert Vadra’s close aide Sanjay Bhandari was in the race for Rafale deal and to be the offset partner of defence manufacturer Dassault. Union minister Gajendra Shekhawat has stated, “Sanjay Bhandari, who would book plane tickets for Vadra, get the interiors of Vadra’s London flat done, and handle his real estate deals, was seen with him at the Dubai Defence Expo. The Gandhi family wanted that the deal should be through Vadra’s company.”
