Here’s why we cannot build an orphanage or a hospital in place of Ram Mandir

The verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi Ayodhya issue which came out yesterday has boosted the morale of the Hindus in the country. The three judge bench of the Supreme Court made it clear that the case for the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple will now be fast tracked and the final judgement can easily be expected by the end of 2018. The judgement given by the Supreme Court bench clearly stated that mosques are not integral to Islam and the matter should be dealt with only as a property dispute. While everything seems to be going right and the case is seemingly going to be in the favour of the Hindus who want the temple to be created at the disputed site, a breed of liberals are sure to come out of their hiding with the demands of constructing a hospital or an orphanage in its place. These pseudo liberals are sure to come out now, sooner than later considering the recent verdict has gone against the members fighting for the Babri Mosque.

The building of Ram Janmabhoomi temple at Ayodhya is a touchy topic for the majority of the Hindus in the country. It is not just an iconic place but the Ayodhya site had given Hindu ideology and conscience the much needed push to reclaim stolen memories and relics of their faith. Nehruvian socialism which was practised by the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty in India which ruled for the majority of time period has systematically destructed the ideology and conscience of the Hindu religion. Minority appeasement politics was at an all time high after the reins of India were passed on to the hands of Jawaharlal Nehru from the British. The Hindus and Bhagwan Ram too had been denied their right to pray for an insignificant structure which was built after the name of a barbaric invader. The portrayal of Mughals as kind, generous and humane rulers too had been carried out in the history textbooks to subtly influence the minds of the Hindus. Mughals were not an invader, the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, the Krishna temple in Mathura, the Kashi Vishwanath in Varanasi along with countless others and their destruction at the hands of the Mughal rulers are seldom discussed in the history textbooks. What we are instead fed on in copious amounts are tall tales of their able rule, their supremacy in warfare, their just behaviour and so on.

Over the course of almost 70+ years since India’s Independence from the British, Bhagwan Ram has been tried in various courts through various cases not as a metaphysical entity but as an individual. The claim of the liberals therefore asking to build a hospital or an orphanage in the place of the Ram Janmabhoomi is unfounded as it would lead to denial of justice to an individual which is a crime as per his rights to property. The hospital and orphanage can be made at countless locations based in Ayodhya, on fallow government lands and even by acquiring private lands if the need be. Demanding the construction of a hospital or an orphanage on a place which is so close to the faith of crores of Hindus in the country is a sin. The pseudo liberals were nowhere to be found all these years, no one had come forward demanding the construction of a hospital or an orphanage in Ayodhya, let alone the demands for constructing it on the holy site.

The pseudo liberals and self branded intellectuals will come out in some time, raising a hue and cry even when the Shia Waqf Board had itself stated openly that the site be given to the Mandir committee. They hollow talks of secularism and how it is the right thing to do will once again start now that the date for the final judgement is near. It is important today for the Hindus not to be deluded by these claims, a hospital and orphanage are necessities of life, the Ram Janmabhoomi temple is a necessity of faith. Both are equally important for a civilisation to survive but one should not be allowed to block the path of another, and that is why the Ram Janmabhoomi temple should indeed be constructed at the site once the final judgement comes out.
