Ayushman Bharat- The National Health Protection Mission which is formulated to provide a health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh per individual and aims to provide this benefit to 50 crore people in the country is facing opposition from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He even refused to implement Ayushman Bharat Scheme. In order to implement the scheme, he demanded the name of the scheme changed to ‘Mukhya Mantri Aam Aadmi Swasthya Bima Yojana-Ayushman Bharat’. This, according to Kejriwal, is the only acceptable option for the name of the mission, because it has the first two words of his party in the name.

Now after refusing to implement the scheme, Arvind Kejriwal is regularly criticizing the scheme and calling it a jumla despite the fact that nearly 1,000 patients benefited from Ayushman Bharat Scheme within 24 hours of its launch. So far, the number has reached to 18,000 people.

On Friday, Kejriwal again criticized the scheme in harshest possible words and said that no one would benefit from the scheme, a factually incorrect statement.

Ayushman Bharat has already benefitted over 18,000 people within days of its launch. These people are mostly those who don’t have adequate amount of money to afford sound healthcare facility.

After that, JP Nadda went on to point out the promises made by Arvind Kejriwal which he hasn’t fulfilled, calling Kejriwal’s lie.

Arvind Kejriwal doesn’t believe in fulfilling promises, he only believes in playing cheap politics. If we simply focus on Kejriwal’s governance, he has not delivered on any of his promises either. Forget free electricity, the current AAP government has not even ensured that proper electricity reaches every home. Worse, whenever the city reels under smog and diseases like dengue, malaria etc., and the AAP government either does nothing, or has one simple solution: pass the blame on PM Modi.

Arvind Kejriwal doesn’t care about anyone except himself and his political interests. His stand against country’s biggest healthcare reform- Ayushman Bharat- is testimony of this fact. The ‘dharna’ politician from the national capital has decided to stall the national project with his baseless demands just so that he can go promoting his flagship projects. His flagship project mohalla clinics have been derided many a times in the past from the citizens of Delhi as well as the media. To hide his failures and to feed his ego he has chosen to block the roll-out of the ABPMJAY as well. Every year hundreds of deaths from Dengue are reported in Delhi but the ego of Delhi CM does not allow him to accept the scheme for the betterment of the people of Delhi.

Ayushman Bharat is country’s biggest health reform. Chief Minister’s of many states despite having ideological and political differences with the BJP implemented the scheme but the CM of Delhi chose to give more importance to his ego rather than the welfare of the people of Delhi.
