Amit Shah shows his lighter side on Twitter

Tane dhoi nakhis !!

Being witty and humorous is a trait very few politicians can claim to acquire well. From people like Sambit Patra to the likes of Hukumdev Narayan Yadav, Subramanian Swamy etc., India has few but extremely witty politicians, whose wisecracks are enough to give even the most established stand up comedians in our country a tough run for their money.

Into this league has stepped in the much famed President of BJP and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Amit Shah, who is well known for his sharp political acumen and his brilliant skills in micro management of local politics. While one knows him for his political insight, very few of us are aware of his lighter side, whose wisecracks would send everybody rolling on the floor with laughter.

In a series of tweets, spanning over 3 days, Amit Shah attacked Rahul Gandhi for his mindless attacks over BJP and NDA government with respect to the Statue of Unity and Rafale barbs that the latter directed at PM Modi. He tweeted as follows:-

Amit Shah not only poked fun at the farce of ‘moral victory’ that began after Congress managed to give BJP some competition in the previous year’s Gujarat assembly elections, but also maintained that BJP won’t be a pushover in the upcoming polls to be held in 2019.

Within hours, this tweet went extremely viral, garnering thousands of retweets and likes. A fan account gave an equally impressive reply that would surely turn many faces red in the Congress camp:-

As if this wasn’t enough, his second tweet was not only an appreciative tweet commending the stance of NCP supremo Sharad Pawar on the Rafale plane issue, but also roasted Rahul Gandhi for his mindless attacks against the NDA government, even when he has almost zero support on the Rafale issue, except for the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ stalwarts of course.

The third tweet, however, was as if saving the best for the last. Amit Shah posted the following tweet this morning:-

In this tweet of his, not only has Amit Shah brought the tall claims of the chief opposition leader i.e. Rahul Gandhi hurtling down, he also paraphrased the Congress President’s own tweet to show him the mirror. Trust Amit Shah to be this witty when it comes to defending the RSS without any indulgence in muckraking.

It seems that Amit Shah is now taking some smart lessons from the witty politicians of India, and has adopted a lighter and smarter approach to his otherwise aggressive stance. It is not only delightful, but equally acerbic when it comes to taking down a virulent, power hungry opposition, whose sole aim is to capture power by hook or by crook. From a time, when an innocuous statement proved disastrous for BJP’s ambitions in Delhi and Bihar elections of 2015, to a time, when his wit has left the opposition at their wits’ end, our ‘Mota Bhai’ [an affectionate term for elder brother in Gujarati, also used with Amit Shah] has really come a long way.
