For the longest possible time in the last four years a debate has been going on in the country by the leftist cabal about rising cases of intolerance in the country. The intolerance brigade cherry picked a few incidents to suit their narrative; a case of a member of the Muslim community being beaten up by criminals became an act of planned atrocity by the members and supporters of the ruling party. What this nexus selectively downplays are the incidents where members from the Muslim community are involved in acts of terror or hate filled acts directed towards other. Sara Ali Khan daughter of Nawab of Pataudi and actor Saif Ali Khan is the latest victim of hate and outrage coming from the Muslim community. Sara Ali Khan received flak from the Muslim community members for visiting a Hindu temple in Mumbai.

Sara Ali Khan is the daughter of actor Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. While visiting the temple she was accompanied by her mother and brother, and was just visiting a temple as per her own personal wishes. She neither spoke anything against Islam or any person of the Muslim community yet she had to face hate from the people of the minority community which is portrayed as the victim almost every month in the leading dailies. Amrita Singh is a born Hindu and post her divorce with Saif Ali Khan she has retained her religious identity as a Hindu. Sara Ali Khan being the daughter of a Hindu mother and Muslim father is free to worship any religion as her heart desires. There should have been no outrage over Sara Ali Khan visiting a Hindu temple considering the fact that she has chosen to retain her father’s name even after living with her mom after her parents’ divorce.
Sara Ali Khan is first and foremost an Indian and then a Hindu or a Muslim or both if that this is what she chooses to be. The leftist cabal which behaves like an ostrich whenever such an act takes places in the country, needs to get their heads out of the gutters and condemn this trolling directed towards Sara Ali Khan who is going to debut in the film industry pretty soon. They also need to be made aware of the fact that had this been a case of a Muslim man being denied entry into a temple, the whole Hindu religion and its followers would have been branded as intolerant and the act as an atrocity done on the Muslim community. It is nothing but their duality in the nature which stops them from condemning the people from the Muslim community who have chosen to troll Sara Ali Khan for entering a Hindu temple. Perhaps if just for once we can look past the propaganda being spread by the leftist cabal we will realize that hate could emanate from all sections of the society and secularism is not just the responsibility of the Hindus in India.
