Krishna Chander Singh, the controversial former diplomat is in the news again, for all the wrong reasons. Earlier, KC Singh had faced the fury of social media users when he suggested that journalists who are not anti-Modi enough should be jailed once the Modi government is voted out of the power.
Now, KC Singh has come up with another bizarre demand. He wants the United States to interfere into India’s internal matter. Recently, in his tweet, he has asked American Ambassador to India, Ken Juster, if he had brought up the issues related to lynchings in India in his meeting with Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

One expects some sanity from a former ambassador to Iran and UAE but it looks like KC Singh is a stranger to the word sanity. After serving the country for years as a diplomat, he is actually asking a foreign country to intervene in law and order related issues of his own country. He is no less than a blot on the entire diplomat community. With this kind of mentality, it is no exaggeration to say that he was completely unfit to serve as an ambassador. India is a democratic, independent and sovereign country. It can handle its own affairs. KC Singh should instead ask the United States to protect the human rights violation of its black citizens and also to protect its citizens from drug abuse and growing culture of gun violence.
It’s really an unfortunate thing that there have been many rotten apples in the foreign policy domain who time and again have compromised and risked India’s interest and sovereignty. Recently, an excerpt went viral about journalist Srinivasan Jain’s father who was posted as an ambassador in South Africa. LC Jain, father of Srinivas Jain was against Pokhran test. The post alleges that “Jain was against the Pokhran tests and made no bones telling the South Africans as much.”

As far as KC Singh is concerned, his hatred for the incumbent government at the center is not hidden from anyone. It seems that he is rattled because his political masters are now out of the power. There is no cure for such a slave mentality. His twitter timeline is full of anti-BJP and anti-Modi tweets. Criticizing a government is a constitutional right of each and every citizen. However, the problem arises when the hatred for a particular government turns into hatred for the country.
It also exposes the mentality of our bureaucrats, how they react and retaliate against someone who is not a part of their tribe. Apart from academia, ideological untouchability is rampant in bureaucracy as well.
After six decades of Congress rule, such instances are a wakeup call for the citizens as well as for the incumbent government. The BJP government must ensure that those who are at the helm of foreign services affairs have India’s interest in their mind. As it is clearly evident from the recent incidents that in the past, we have been an abject failure in this regard. The system which created diplomats like LC Jain and KC Singh needs to be reformed.
