Not all incidents of violence are condemnable, at least for the liberals

Recently, two shocking incidents of violence involving religious leaders have surfaced in the media. Both the incidents are appalling and must be condemned unequivocally. The first incident of violence happened in Jharkhand where anti-Hindu, anti-nationalist and pro-naxal Agnivesh was beaten up allegedly by people belonging to the BJP’s youth wing.  In the second incident of violence, a Maulana slapped an old woman on a live television debate.

The Lutyen-Leftist cabal of intellectuals and journalists obviously latched onto Agnivesh incident to peddle their agenda. The incident would not have gained any prominence if it had been anyone else in saffron robes, and the perpetrators not allegedly belonged to BJP’s youth wing BJYM. There are doubts whether Agnivesh was beaten by BJYM or not but media is peddling this unverified news like a gospel truth. Police are yet to come up with its finding but leftist-liberal intellectuals have already declared their verdict. Many of those who attacked Agnivesh in the past are now ardently supporting him just because allegedly some BJYM workers were involved in his beating. They are calling him as Hindu religious hero, rationalist Hindu scholar, a messenger of peace and what not. They are referring the attackers as a lynch mob.

On the other hand, an old advocate woman was slapped by a Maulana on live TV failed to attract the attention of the Lutyen-Leftist cabal of intellectuals and journalists. Some, in fact, jumped in maulana’s support. They shamelessly defended the Maulana, claiming that he slapped the woman in self-defence and accused the news channel of making a villain out of Maulana. The victim is a Muslim woman, and she is one of the petitioners against the cruel and outdated practice of triple talaq. However, this incident was completely ignored by the cabal as if it never happened. They came up with absurd logic like the channel is deliberately doing all this drama in order to increase its TRP. Many other usual suspects, refused to utter even a single word despite social media continuously lambasting them for their stoic silence. Feminists, liberal-leftists and placard-holding activists are all silent on this shameless beating of a woman on live TV debate. There is no outrage from their side, and considering their glorious track record, it will be worthless to expect anything from them.

Violence is violence, it should be condemned. But the leftist-liberal cabal is selective in their condemnation. Just like Pakistan has created the concept of ‘good terrorism’ and ‘bad terrorism’, the cabal has also created the concept of ‘good violence’ and ‘bad violence’ and condemns any case of violence according to that distinction. Each and every time they invent new ways to twist things and then come up with ridiculous arguments and display shameless double-standards such as in this case. 

The Maulana and Agnivesh episodes once again exposed the hypocrisy of the leftist-liberal cabal and they are not just embracing hypocrisy, they are celebrating it with passion and zeal.
