Socialism is one of the forms of governance craved by the left-liberals. However, Socialism is critically endangered and the youth might be forgiven if they don’t know what Socialism stands for. Akhilesh Yadav led ‘Samajwadi’ Party preaches Socialism and he showed exactly what Socialism stands for in the events that took place earlier this week.
After the Supreme Court announced in a landmark decision that former Chief Ministers aren’t entitled to a government bungalow, the UP government decided to send notices to six former Chief Ministers to vacate their official residences. ND Tiwari, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Kalyan Singh, Rajnath Singh, Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav were all asked to vacate their government bungalow. Akhilesh Yadav who is supposed to be a ‘youth icon’ showcased real ‘Samajwad’ (socialism) upon vacating his government bungalow, 4, Vikramaditya Marg. When the UP estate department paid a visit to his erstwhile residence, they were in for a rude shock. The condition of the bungalow was in utter shambles, with many structures completely razed to the ground. It is no secret that Mulayam and Akhilesh Yadav didn’t want to leave their respective residences, with the former even requesting Yogi Adityanath to circumvent the law and allot the houses to Samajwadi Party MLAs. But alas, Yogi Adityanath doesn’t exactly have the reputation of being generous towards freeloaders, and his request was promptly denied. The officials found the entire house damaged barring a marble temple in one corner, with some areas declared beyond repair. While this might look like an act of anger by ex-UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, a closer look into the matter reveals otherwise.
PM Modi on 8th November 2016 announced demonetisation to tackle the flow of black money and parties like SP and BSP ended up losing a lot of money. The donations to these parties are at a record low with the Modi wave showing no signs of receding and hence these parties and their leaders have become desperate. Here’s an example of their desperation. While all the ACs were stolen from the house, which was expected by a Socialist leader, the air-conditioning ducts were also removed. While taking personal belongings with you during shifting is totally understandable, desperate times calls for desperate measures. The furniture and the fans were also removed. The UP estate department themselves wouldn’t have expected Yadav to leave behind all the electronic and electrical devices like TVs and ACs, however, even the electricity switchboards have been removed and the switches have been damage.
The palatial government bungalow was constructed at a whopping cost of Rs 45 Crore with things like imported tiles and rare plants, shoring up the cost at the taxpayer’s expense. During the fag end of his tenure in 2016, Yadav perhaps realised that his government’s misdeeds will see him being thrown out of power next year and decided to build this house at the government’s expense. In UP, ex-CMs have been occupying government residences long after they have been out of power, and Yadav could be forgiven for thinking that he would meet the same fate. Little did he know that Yogi Adityanath had other plans.
There was obvious frustration within Yadav. The all-weather swimming pool was filled up with cement. However, swimming pool was not spared before the destruction either. Before destroying the pool, the tiles were removed. While taking away the net of his sprawling badminton court was on expected lines, removing the tiles from the court is largely unheard of. This frustration must stem out of the fact that with Modi at the Centre and Yogi leading in UP, he might never get another chance to serve as UP CM again.
We have heard about water thefts and water mafias especially in parched areas but have you ever heard about the shower mafia? Yes, the taps and the showers from all the bathrooms were removed. Yadav, a gym freak, had built a gymnasium for himself with all the imported equipment and unsurprisingly most of the equipment is missing from the gymnasium. It is even reported that a false ceiling was removed!
The residents of Lucknow must be careful. If you find a man in white kurta donning a red hat showing up at your doorstep trying to intimidate you and steal your belongings then worry not, just call UP Police. The UP Police have had a less than forgiving attitude towards criminals in recent times and the red-hatted thief will be taken care of. The UP Estate Department are all set to initiate legal proceedings against Yadav, and anyone who dared to mock the taxpayer thus deserves exemplary punishment.
