Shujaat Bukhari’s murder case has been in the highlights for the past three days. The brutal killing of Shujaat Bukhari along with his security guards was committed on the last few days of Ramzan. Shujaat Bukhari was gunned down by assailants while he was leaving his office in the evening. Police have already captured a suspected terrorist who was probably involved in the killing of the Chief Editor of Rising Kashmir. The police bodyguard who was accompanying Shujaat also lost his life in the tragic incident which took place in the holy month of Ramzan. Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched a massive manhunt to nab the killers of the popular personality from Kashmir. Two pictures of three men on a bike have been released by the police team, who are now prime suspects in the killings. The fourth suspect Zubair Qadri was nabbed by the police on Friday, after being caught on the camera stealing the slain policeman’s gun who was shot dead along with Bukhari.
Reports have also emerged that Hurriyat and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence could be behind the killing of Shujaat Bukhari. Hurriyat conference had in the past strongly advised Shujaat not to visit Dubai. Shujaat went ahead with the trip and he had been even summoned by angry Hurriyat leaders for defying their orders. According to sources, ISI seems to have taken the help of the Lashkar-e-Taiba to kill Bukhari. Their evil intentions got a big boost owing to the fulfillment of CM Mehbooba Mufti’s demand of a ceasefire during Ramzan.
Any sane person could have deduced the involvement of ISI and separatists in the brutal killing of a newspaper editor from the valley, but Shehla Rashid belongs to the list of people who always have a not so accurate perspective on the events. She took to Twitter to build up another baseless claim on the killing. Her story-weaving techniques know no bounds as she shied away from even hinting at the involvement of separatists and Islamic forces in the killings. She chose to drag the ‘agencies’, Indian ones, into the matter in order to suit her agenda and build the narrative of the ‘breaking India forces’. She had done it earlier too by naming a BJP MP as the plotter behind PM Modi’s assassination plan. A quick rebuke and a hint of a FIR from the said MP shut her up quickly and she took to calling her earlier tweet as an attempt at sarcasm. A pathetic one, nonetheless.
Shehla Rashid has again through her tweets tried to pin the blame on India, irrespective of the fact that a policeman too lost his life in the attack on Shujaat. She in future might also go on to blame Indian forces for not stopping the grenade attacks launched on them by terrorists. These are venomous ways to help treacherous terrorists, Shehla Rashid is doing what she does best, instilling fear and hate for India in the minds of people. Her baseless claims are as good as fictional stories arising from a story weaver’s mind. Aurangzeb, the Indian soldier who lost his life to terrorists from the valley found no mention in Shehla Rashid’s tweets till yesterday.
Probably the fact that he was a Kashmiri as well as nationalist didn’t make him worthy of Shehla’s praise. Shujaat Bukhari and his killers will be found and put to trial and so will Aurangzeb’s, we demand that as Indians who have lost two of our citizens. Shehla Rashid on the other hand can go on peddling all the propaganda she likes for the sake of her misleading politics.
