Shabana Azmi has been a famous Bollywood actress of the bygone era and is a celebrated Indian celebrity. She has a sizeable fan following both online and offline and enjoys her status as a privileged individual in society. This puts a greater onus on her to measure the weight of the words she speaks in public as well as on social media platforms. Her words must be carefully weighed before they are let out in public and she needs to make sure that the issues she raises are authentic and genuine. Her hatred for PM Modi and BJP is shared by her husband Javed Akhtar. The duo of Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi has often ranted against the central leadership and has tried to find flaws with their working style. Shabana Azmi recently wanted to target the Railway Ministry and find faults with their functioning by sharing the link to a random post on Facebook. Her blind hatred towards the BJP did not allow her to check for the authenticity and origins of the video. Like an irresponsible person, she went ahead and even tagged the official handle of Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Twitter.
The video in question showed people rinsing plates and utensils in dirty waters. The muddy water was being used to rinse utensils in which food was to be served to probable customers. Shabana Azmi fell into the trap of the Facebook post which was not at all authentic; the post also claimed that the people being shown were Indian Railway employees who were washing the dishes in which food would be served to the passengers. In her tweet, Shabana Azmi even tagged the official handle of Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and tried to shame him and the Railway Ministry over the alleged video. Considering the intent to harm the image of the Indian Railways, the video must have been created by someone who hates the current government and its ministries. Shabana too joined ranks with them and went ahead with the tweet yesterday, trying to create yet another sensational bit of anti-government news.
The reply to Shabana Azmi’s tweet came from the Ministry of Railways promptly within 12 hours. The tweet by the ministry of Railways clarified that the video in question was taken at a Kuala Lumpur based eatery in Malaysia which is soon going to close after the news of the employees facing utensils in a puddle came out towards the end of May.
Mam, video is of Malaysian eatery which faces closure after video shows workers washing dishes in puddle of murky water: Link News is https://t.co/n6U2f9fMP0

The reply from the Ministry was enough to put an end to the fake news being spread over the internet by people like Shabana Azmi and her followers. The tweet by Ministry of Railways handle was shared countless more times than that of Shabana Azmi which showed the disgust people have for peddlers of fake news and for those who attempt to malign the name of government and its agencies on social media platforms. It is surprising though that Shabana Azmi still hasn’t learnt her lesson as she is yet to delete the tweet from her social media handle. Even though the original facebook video which she had shared has now been removed, Shabana Azmi refused to remove her tweet for a long time.
Finally better sense prevailed and she apologized. Certainly not the movie climax, she must have been expecting
Thank you for clarifying this . I stand corrected. Pls accept my apologies https://t.co/30Kodpcqfm
