Ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Sant Kabir Nagar,UP CM visited saint Kabir’s Mazaar in Maghar to inspect the preparations for PM Modi’s visit. The warden of the place offered him a skullcap, which Yogi Adityanath politely, refused to wear. Now, the pseudo-secular media is outraging over this. However, there is nothing surprising about it considering the fact that Yogi Adityanath is a known Hindu leader and has openly proclaimed it.

This incident reminded of what PM Modi did when he was Chief Minister of Gujarat. During his Sadbhavana fast as CM of Gujarat in 2011, when a Muslim cleric offered the skullcap to him, he politely refused to wear it and settled for a shawl and this became one of the most defining moments of his political career. In a country where Muslim appeasement masquerades as Secularism, pseudo-secular media made a mountain out of a molehill and tried to project Modi as anti-Islam and anti-Muslim. He made it very clear on that day that he would never get indulged into minority appeasement and pseudo secularism. He believes in the politics where there is development for all and not for satisfying one particular section of the society.

Some sections of media and political parties made secularism synonymous to Muslim appeasement and Hindu bashing, but this has changed after the rise of Modi and Yogi the Indian politics. It’s not that Yogi and Modi are not indulged in appeasement politics. They also do appeasement of that majority section of the society which wants India’s growth and development, which wants a new dynamic, strong and powerful India, unlike a particular section of society who wants to convert into seventh-century tribal warfare territory. Wearing a skull cap is in no way proves anyone’s secular credentials and it is not a certificate of secularism. With his popularity touching new heights every day, Yogi Adityanath clearly has emerged as the next big thing in Indian politics after the advent of PM Modi, so it is hard not to draw parallels. The rise of CM Yogi and PM Modi are best things happened with Indian politics in recent times.

Prime Minister Modi is going to visit the saint Kabir’s Mazaar in Maghar in Sant Kabir Nagar district of UP on the 500th death anniversary of the saint and poet Kabir Das on Thursday. He will be paying floral tribute at saint Kabir’s Samadhi and will offer a Chadar at the Sant Kabir Das Mazaar.
