The Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore‘s unique #HumFitTohIndiaFit initiative is the talk of the town these days. Top celebrities from the cricket world to Bollywood posted their workout videos since Rathore started the initiative. Thousands of common people inspired by celebrities took the challenge and posted their Yoga or gym workout on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. Overall, the fitness challenge has been highly popular among celebrities and commoners alike.

Team India skipper and fitness freak Virat Kohli nominated PM Modi for the fitness challenge and requested him to share his workout video. Kohli is one of the fittest players in the world with one of the lowest injury rates since he started his cricket career. He has supported fitness causes earlier and took on the challenge by Rathore head on. PM Modi also took on the challenge and posted his workout video where he is seen doing walks, breath control and stretching exercises. On social media, the video got very high engagement from common people with thousands of likes, reactions, and retweets.

PM Modi nominated Manika Batra, ace Table tennis player who won gold in 2018 commonwealth games and newly elected Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy. Manika Batra was very thankful to the PM for the tag and said “Couldn’t believe that PM challenged me. I’ll be posting my video soon. So good to have a PM who is involved in fitness and all these things. When I won medals he was the first to congratulate as well.” On the other hand, H D Kumaraswamy chose to politicize the matter and sarcastically wrote on Twitter “Dear @narendramodi Ji I am honored & thank U very much for d concern about my health I believe physical fitness is important for all & support d cause, Yoga-treadmill r part of my daily workout regime. Yet, I am more concerned about development fitness of my state & seek ur support for it.”

Kumaraswamy should be informed that the health of the state of Karnataka was systematically destroyed by the previous Congress government through politics of freebies, appeasement, and lack of interest for the development of the state, and HDK shares power in the state with the same party. In fact, he is a Chief Minister on the mercy of the Congress as he accepted earlier in a press conference.

India is a young nation with two thirds of the population below the age of thirty, but the country faces serious health-related issues. On one hand, people in the cities suffer from obesity, and on the other hand, poor village children suffer from malnutrition and poor sanitation. Many people suffer from depression and loneliness for which Yoga is the best therapy. According to the Indian Heart Association, “50% of all heart attacks in Indians occur under 50 years of age and 25% of all heart attacks in Indians occur under 40 years of age. Population living in cities is three times more prone to heart attacks than people living in villages”. The statistics clearly indicate that despite being young, the country is not very healthy and fitness is the only way to cure an unhealthy nation. H D Kumaraswamy was slammed by people for politicizing a perfectly apolitical topic. He has proved that he is a vile man and unfit to be a Chief Minister which he got on the mercy of Congress party. He is an incompetent Chief Minister and a man without a human oriented approach because he looks for political gains in everything, even a harmless fitness challenge.
