Cricketer turned politician Kirti Azad was suspended by the BJP after he made serious accusations against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley with respect to Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA). Arun Jaitley sued Kejriwal for the same case, he filed a defamation case against the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and later Kejriwal apologized in order to escape prosecution after he failed to prove the charges which he levelled against Arun Jaitley. On the other hand, Kirti Azad was lucky enough to get away with the suspension.

After his suspension, Kirti Azad ran from pillar to post to meet the senior BJP leadership on various occasions to give clarification of his acts. However, no one paid any heed to his haughty behaviour. This is just an example of how Modi-Shah duo deals with the agitator within their party ranks. They do not respond to baseless criticisms and give the silent treatment. Kirti Azad was expecting the Modi-Shah duo to compromise but alas his expectations suffered a huge setback.

After so many failed attempts to get an audience from the BJP, now the suspended BJP MP, Kirti Azad, has hinted that he might join the Congress party ahead of 2019 General elections. It’s in the best of the interest of the BJP that an average cricketer who was lucky enough to be part of the 1983 Indian cricket world cup winning team and a below average politician, leave their party.  Azad showered praises upon Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party. He said, “Rahul Gandhi has been very effectively raising a number of issues concerning the common people. Under his leadership, the Congress appears to be regaining lost ground. This must sound like alarm bells for those who are in power.” After hearing this, BJP supporters are expecting Shatrughan Sinha to take a leaf from Kirti Azad’s book. He also added, “I have not been given a chance to speak to the party’s top leadership though it has been nearly three years since I was placed under suspension.” The pain of not getting any audience and failed to become a political martyr is clearly evident in his statement. He also disclosed his future plans. Kirti Azad announced, “The people of my constituency want me to fight in 2019. So I will be fighting the next general elections from Darbhanga itself. And I will fight on the ticket of a national party.”

Likes of Kirti Azad, Shatrughan Sinha and others are piqued with the silent treatment given to them and now are looking for other parties with a hope to get a larger attention. Kirti Azad case also shows that Modi and Shah duo is not going to make political martyr out of these haughty people. They will infact break their ego with the silent treatment and will force them to quit themselves and join any other party, which would be in best of their interest . The BJP is here to serve interest of the people of the country and not that of haughty and attention seeker politicians.
