Armed Forces are the first line of security for India, their well being and look after is of utmost importance to the country. The aim of the Indian government has been to take care of their worries from back home so that they can focus on the job at hand. The Bharatiya Janata Party government has done exactly this. A lot has been done in the last few years to improve the morale of the security forces and their kith and kin. The procurement of better arms and ammunitions along with bulletproof jackets and other safety equipments have been done to ensure safety of our security personnel. Long standing demands of One Rank One Pension (OROP) are being looked into by the PM Modi led central government while the BJP CM Devendra Fadnavis has stayed one step ahead. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis government has decided to add one more jewel to the crown of facilities it extends to the families of martyrs who give up their lives in defending the nation. CM Fadnavis has decided to add legal heirs of the martyr to the people who are entitled to get 2 hectares of agricultural land as compensation.
CM Fadnavis, announced on Saturday the 23rd of June that the legal heir of the martyred soldier is also entitled to get two hectares of agricultural land as compensation in Maharashtra. The order to give two hectares of agricultural land in the state to the wives was already in place in the state vide an order passed by CM Fadnavis on March 20th. This is a huge decision considering this will give a long term sustainable earning capacity to the martyr’s family members. The grant of a huge portion of land will ensure that the martyr’s family can become self dependent and will not have to be dependent on others. The decision will apply to security personnel belonging to the Army and other armed forces of the Union who have been martyred in war, terror attack or on abroad missions. District Collectors have been given the right to allot the 2 hectares of plot to the wives or the legal heirs of the martyr by the Maharashtra government. This will ensure a steady income for the family and dependents of martyr soldiers,
CM Fadnavis has been doing excellent work in the state and has made many changes to ensure efficient governance in the state. His fame has seeped nooks and corners of the state and his popularity and acceptance became apparent in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and other elections in the state. He has reduced the one time core ally Shiv Sena to a junior partner in its home state. It is because of these that the BJP candidate Rajendra Gavit managed to beat the Shiv Sena’s Shrinivas Wanga in the recently held by-polls in Maharashtra’s Palghar (ST) seat. Great work being done by the state government of Maharashtra and it needs to be followed by leaders from other states as well. It will be an excellent way of showing the love and warmth which we have for our security forces who put their lives in danger to keep India and its citizens safe.
