After converting his bungalow into some war like debris, yesterday former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav had the audacity to call it a conspiracy of the BJP to malign his image. It’s a perfect case of kettle calling the pot black. Yesterday, at the press conference he brought taps along with him to give it back to the BJP. Akhilesh Yadav said, “The BJP is saying that he had taken away taps. I want to give them taps through the media.” He was answering questions about accusations made against him about leaving the official bungalow worse for wear. Akhilesh Yadav further added, “I had my gym and a steel structure there. In my new house I will use it. The BJP is trying to humiliate me with the help of media. I also know photography and the angle used to show what is to be emphasized.” He claimed that the BJP is doing all this because they are unable to digest back to back defeats in UP by-poll elections. Akhilesh Yadav averred, “It’s a conspiracy of the BJP after its humiliating defeat in the by-polls in Gorakhpur, Phulpur, Kairana and Noorpur.” He further added, “It is rattled after these repeated defeats. I want to tell them (BJP) that the same officers will find out something when you (BJP) leave your house. They might come out with a ‘chilam’.” Basically, he is indirectly threatening that he too can send officials to make it look bad.

He tried his level best to declare him as innocent as dove and the whole universe is conspiring against him but it looks like that he does not know that a picture is worth a thousand words. No matter how much he alleges that the pictures were taken from unflattering angles, the pictures of the plundered bungalow speak about its posh past and its devastated present.

After the BJP frustrated Akhilesh Yadav brazenly made baseless accusations, UP Governor Ram Naik took cognizance of the matter and wrote to CM Yogi asking to take strict action against the culprit.

Lambasting the Governor, Akhilesh said, “He is a good person but he is not following the Constitution. He does not have the Constitution in his soul but there is the RSS.” Earlier, Akhilesh Yadav had also lashed out at the officials who carried out the eviction of the bungalow. He has stooped to the level of issuing a threat to the officials of the estate department who carried out the process of eviction.

He continued claiming that he is innocent and has done nothing wrong. Akhilesh Yadav further claimed that he has not removed any furnishing from the government bungalow. He said, “Wooden flooring along with many things in bungalow are intact. One damaged corner of house was photographed in way to make it look like house was left in a bad state.” Not just taps, Akhilesh Yadav also said that if he is provided with list of missing things, he will immediately return it and . He said, “If I am told about missing things, I will return the items immediately. Someone is saying Rs 42 crore was spent on the bungalow…Some say there was a swimming pool, which I filled before leaving the premises. I am ready to go there again. Show me where is the pool.”

The BJP party was quick to reply to Akhilesh Yadav’s allegations . Uttar Pradesh BJP minister, Siddharth Nath Singh called it a case of ‘ulta chor kotwal ko daante’.

According to reports the Estates department will be looking into the matter. Yogesh Kumar Shukla said, “The department will serve a notice if there was any damage done “intentionally” or if there was anything missing”.  Akhilesh Yadav is now paranoid, his work has clearly backfired and he is now indulged in damage control. He knows this will not go down well with the voters as well. His problems might only increase because now the government is going through the registry, and he will soon stand exposed.
