Dear Nawaz Sharif, you might as well have told us that the sun rises in the east!

Nawaz Sharif 26/11

(PC: Times Now)

In another major confession, former Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif acknowledged his country’s role in the Mumbai 26/11 attacks that had led to the death of more than 150 people. In a sudden change of heart and anger against terror outfits nurtured by Pakistan, Sharif questioned the Pakistan policy of allowing non-state actors to operate with impunity. Nawaz Sharif who was unseated by Pakistan apex court for not being “honest and righteous”, wondered whether Pakistan should allow the non-state actors to cross the border and give effect to their nefarious designs. He also wondered by Pakistani courts cannot punish the people behind the attacks. Without taking names, probably out of fear, he indirectly referred to Hafiz Saeed and Maulana Masood Azhar in connection with 26/11. Then, he went ahead to describe how Pakistan has been internationally isolated due to its terror activities with top leaders across the global vociferously condemned the cross-border terrorism sponsored by Pakistan.

The spineless leader who headed the Pakistan government for nine years across three terms has now criticised the Pakistan army and judiciary for running parallel governments. Nawaz Sharif never spoke in India’s interests even as Pakistan pursued its “bleed India with thousand cuts” policy. While he always tried to create a pro-India image for himself, he quietly oversaw how Pakistan planned and executed some of the most deadly terror attacks in India.

This admission about 26/11 is not for the first time that Nawaz Sharif, infuriated by being thrown out of government, has implicated the Pakistani institutions. Earlier this month, Nawaz Sharif’s protege and the current prime minister Abbasi had openly declared that his party will be at war with aliens in the upcoming elections and not against its opponents. This was seen by many as reference to the invisible forces including the military which routinely affect the elections taking place in the terrorist country.

However, the question that arises here is whether Nawaz Sharif’s statements about 26/11 have actually exposed anything and whether they have any meaning, especially at when the world already recognizes that Pakistan is a cesspool of terrorism. Sharif does not need to expose what everyone already knows. However, he has tried to portray himself or by extension the entire civil government as helpless victims. This is a concoction that he is trying to create. No one in the entire Pakistani establishment, whether civil, judicial or military can be exonerated from the charge of nurturing and sponsoring terrorism. While the Pakistan army takes most of the brunt, we should not forget that successive Pakistani governments have done absolutely nothing to try and extinguish the terror factories operating in full swing in Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif himself did absolutely nothing to fight against what he calls non-state actors.

Let us also be clear about the fact that there is no such thing as non-state actors in Pakistan which indulge in terror activities but the entire state is acting like a terror outfit. Pakistan’s army, for that matter, has always acted like terrorists. The basic structure of Pakistan  is terrorism perpetuated  by Islamic extremism. Pakistan can only change its form from a military dictatorship to a democracy and vice-versa but it will always retain its substance and basic structure which is terrorism. The foundations of the country are built on Hindu-hate and violent manifestation of Islamic extremism.

Nawaz Sharif was a part of this terror state. He was complicit when back to back terror attacks were carried out and is now crying foul because the terror establishment governing Pakistan has thrown him out. Pakistan just barely classifies as a country in the international community. It seems more like a huge terror outfit troubling the entire region by manufacturing terrorists. Unfortunately, the eyewash of an innocent civil government in Pakistan trying to make peace, being hampered by its military, has been bought by many in India also. Nawaz Sharif is trying to use that illusion to good effect. However, the illusions that Pakistan  have been trying to create are already out in the open not only before India but the entire world.
