Rahul Gandhi, the face of  The Indian National Congress (INC) has proved his mettle time and again. As much as Congress would like to hide the effect of Rahul Gandhi’s words and actions, it outshines anyone else’s drastically. Even the BJP which has won state after state in the elections since 2014 has not been able to match the consistency of Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi has been consistent in losing every election that he has been a part of, with Karnataka being the latest example of his prowess. Sonia Gandhi’s rallies in Karnataka could not help Congress and its President Rahul Gandhi from losing Karnataka elections. Rahul Gandhi claims to be suitable for PM post owing to his legacy and hides his inefficiency behind the garb of coming from a dynasty.

The INC and Rahul have once again failed in keeping hold over a state, the recent being Karnataka. Congress might get 70-80 seats if the recent trends are to be believed. The BJP inspite of not being so dominant in the South is emerging as the single largest party in Karnataka, a share of credit must go to BJP’s star campaigner ‘Rahul Gandhi’, for this win in the state.

If Siddaramaiah’s divisive politics are to be blamed for the Congress’ failure, Rahul Gandhi must also share the blame, for failing to connect with the people of Karnataka. Rahul Gandhi yet again failed to convince the people of Karnataka that the INC under his rule would be able to bring prosperity to the people of Karnataka. His high hopes of becoming the PM in 2019 have also received a befitting reply from the people this time. For all his tall talks of becoming the PM and challenging the BJP regime, the people chose not to let Congress even retain the Karnataka state under his leadership. The Congress and its leaders will have to think deeply if they want to even remain relevant in the Indian political scene, a task which Rahul Gandhi has time and again proved he is incapable of doing.

The INC today is a party without any direction, thanks to Rahul and his ambitions, and he is not even ready to accept that. The shielding he receives from his party members has also not let him grow up. At 47 years of age he cannot even be called a youth leader. State after state seems to be slipping away from the grip of the Congress. In order to remain relevant, the Congress might have to play second fiddle to regional parties in Karnataka and other states. It is high time that the INC makes Rahul Gandhi realize his faults and the price which Congress had to pay for his ambitions. Demands for sidelining Rahul Gandhi have come time and again from inside the Congress party. It may soon come to be a reality if the Congress President doesn’t change his ways soon.
