Mumbai police caught a big fish when they nabbed Tariq Parveen, a close aide of notorious underworld don, Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar, in connection with the 1998 Mumbra case where two cable operators were murdered by the ‘D Company’ gangsters.

Tariq Parveen handled Dawood’s real estate business for several years in Mumbai. Even after he ran away from India, Dawood kept in close touch with Tariq. As such, Tariq is nothing less than a goldmine of information for Mumbai police. Though arrested by Mumbai and Lucknow Police earlier as well, Tariq was let off for the lack of evidence in the Mumbra murder case.

However, this is not what makes this arrest unique. What makes this arrest unique is the surfacing of some evidence, which is bound to stir up a hornet’s nest, if revealed to the public. According to the reports, Tariq Parveen has given them important evidences regarding Dawood’s silent patrons from politics who had aided him in his anti-national terror activities.

These evidences have not been officially revealed but according to the sources, following objects have been recovered:-

If true, this is a cupboard of skeletons which can change the political questions drastically, if exposed. There is a golden rule for crime: You can’t become the boss without some kind of patronage. Same goes with Dawood Ibrahim, who had without doubt received some sort of privileges from shady lawmakers in order to carry out his nefarious activities, which culminated in the deadly Black Friday blasts in Mumbai on 12 March 1993.

Such evidence will further tighten the noose around Dawood’s neck who is already in trouble post the crackdown on his assets in India and abroad. Even his family members haven’t been spared, under the joint efforts of Mumbai Police and their famous encounter specialists, including the reinstated Inspector Pradeep Sharma, who oversaw the arrest of Iqbal Kaskar, Dawood’s brother and a close aide to ‘D Company’ in India.

Dawood’s network in India, even after the Black Friday blasts, has been dependent upon the patronage of the entire ecosystem, comprising shady politicians, corrupt cops and bureaucrats that he virtually controlled for his ‘D Company operations’ in India. As of now, the government has already seized a lion’s share of his assets in India, as well as abroad, and auctioned them off. That is not all, his ex aide, and an underworld Don in his own right, Chhota Rajan, was nabbed by a joint force of Indonesian cops and Indian officials in Indonesia in 2005. Chhota Rajan has been convicted in the Jyotirmoy Dey murder case on May 2, 2018.

To be truthful, Tariq Parveen’s arrest is a step ahead in nabbing one of the India’s most wanted gangsters ever. And given how he was hand in glove with some of the politicians in our country, an expose of the same would change the political equations on a drastic note, and can also end the political careers of some politicians altogether. Let’s see for how much time Dawood can avoid his imminent arrest.
