As the left front was celebrating the second year of forming the government in Kerala, it was left-red faced as the police arrested Viond Kumar ,CPI (M) Mangalapuram Area Committee Secretary. It seems that the party which was till now giving political and religious colour to the crimes of rape and sexual assault is itself involved in such activities. It is shocking how the CPI (M) consists of rapists and at the same time masquerades as the biggest proponent of fighting against such crimes.
Vinod Kumar has been charged for applying criminal force to a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty. He was arrested on a complaint made by a 37-year old woman. Both of them were staying at a hotel in separate rooms. The CPI (M) leader had lured her to Goa on the premise of arranging a fake visa to Portugal. The victim went to the police station and filed a complaint after the CPI (M) leader attempted to sexually assault her. According to the reports on the issue, the accused CPI (M) leader tried to barge into the victim’s room. The victim tried resisting him and thereafter objected loudly in order to bring attention towards what was happening. However,the lascivious CPI (M) leader tried using his political power and threatened the woman against making a police complaint.
This is not for the first time in the recent past that the reports of a CPI (M) functionary committing shameful sexual assault on women has come to light. A CITU (trade union affiliated to the CPM) worker has also been arrested on the ground of child sexual abuse. He was arrested in Thiruvananthapuram and charged with the provisions of the POCSO Act. It is reported that the mother of the victim died years ago while her father was not at home when the lewd communist worker committed the ghastly crime. It is heart wrenching how a worker enjoying impunity due to sufficient nexus with influential politicians claimed motherless kid victim of his pervertedness. The CPI (M) which had earlier claimed that the BJP and the Hindus responsible for the Kathua tragedy are today silent about one of their comrades committing this heinous crime. In fact, the CPI (M) District Secretary, Anavoor Nagappan shamelessly admitted that the party is oblivious to the details of their own worker committing a crime. He claimed that it has not come to the notice of the party. But the reality is that the CPI (M) leadership is intentionally turning a blind eye towards the entire issue. While the CPI (M) had gone full throttle when it came to the Kathua tragedy, they have simply opted not to take cognizance of the sexual assault case and let their worker go without any condemnation.
It was always a known fact that wherever communism has spread in India, political murders and violence is used for eliminating any opposition that may arise. Kerala has been a victim of the communist strategy of letting its goons loose to rule by the sword. Law and order is in tatters and it is the communist workers who are free to rule upon the state as they like. There is no fear of stern action within the party or the law taking its natural course.
