Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and one of the most popular political leaders across the country, CM Yogi Adityanath came out all guns blazing against the Shiv Sena on Wednesday. Shiv Sena is a constituent of the NDA coalition. However, it has been guilty of continuously making unprovoked and distasteful attacks at Prime Minister Modi and the BJP.

In a sharp attack against the Shiv Sena, CM Yogi criticized on how Shiv Sena has back-stabbed the BJP.  He went hammer and tongs against Shiv Sena accusing them of interfering with BJP’s internal affairs by fielding late MP Chintaman Wanaga’s son Srinivas for Palghar Lok Sabha by election. He stated that while victory of BJP candidate Rajendra Gavit would be a great tribute for the late Shiv Sena patriarch Balasaheb Thackrey, the way his party has back-stabbed the BJP will anguish the soul of the respected political leader. Indeed, whatever Shiv Sena has been doing under the leadership of Uddhav Thackrey, Babasaheb’s soul must be in deep pain. CM Yogi was speaking at a rally in Virar, an extended suburb of Mumbai. He made it clear that India can progress only under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.

He also called out the Shiv Sena for invoking Shivaji Maharaj for political purposes. In an attack that is going to leave the party embarrassed and red faced, he exposed how Shiv Sena claims to espouse the principles of Shivaji Maharaj but in reality acts like Afzal Khan. He stated that Shiv Sena’s actions are totally antithetical to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s principles. In a stern warning that must have shaken Shiv Sena to the core, CM Yogi made it clear that the BJP won’t allow the party to continue with its insidious acts. In a telling blow to party, CM Yogi made it clear that that Shivaji Maharaj and Balasaheb Thackrey always stood against anti-national elements and now his party is openly aligning with such elements.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath described how Balasaheb Thackrey was the kind of straightforward leader who never believed in back-stabbing. He was a firm believer in fighting from the front and making the country stronger. In blatant disregard of the principles that Balasaheb Thackrey stood for, Shiv Sena broke up late BJP member of parliament Wanga’s family and tricked his son into contesting the by elections. He made it clear that this was an internal matter of the BJP but Uddhav Thackrey-led Sena did not spare even the family of the late lawmaker and used it for political purposes.

The way CM Yogi Adityanath has mounted an assault on the party has made it clear that it is the Shiv Sena that needs BJP and not the other way round. This is also a wake-up call for the Sena which should take this as an opportunity for mending its ways. Shiv Sena must go back to its roots instead of unnecessarily bickering with the BJP. Shivaji and Balasaheb Thackrey are merely political tools for the Sena. While it invokes these respected leaders, it does not act on their philosophy and principles. Whatever party is doing will cause deep pain and anguish to their souls.
