Mamata’s reign of terror not over yet, now targeting winner BJP candidates

The recently held Gram Panchayat elections in West Bengal saw brutal violence in the state. Nobody was left unhurt after Mamata Banerjee and her goons from Trinamool Congress resolved to clean sweep the Panchayat elections. From brandishing weapons to openly using them inside government premises and everywhere else in West Bengal, TMC left no stone unturned in fixing the elections in their favour. The results of the West Bengal panchayat polls made it all clear, the opposition in Bengal comprising mainly of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Left Front could not field a candidate in more than a third of the 58,792 seats. TMC and the rest of the loonies termed it as the victory of democracy specially the self-declared PM aspirant Mamata Banerjee. Mamata’s white outfits fail to hide the stream of blood flowing in West Bengal in her name. Her indifference and tacit support to the violence is revealed when instead of apologising for her misdeeds she appears overjoyed at the bloodshed which has taken place in her home state. Mamata, after defeating the Communists in West Bengal, wants to exterminate every other opposition as well. This is the Mamata Banerjee style of democracy, where she fights alone and wants to win alone.

This has become apparent as per the treatment meted out to winning candidates from the BJP in the state. BJP surprised everyone by emerging as the second largest party in the panchayat elections held in the state despite the targeted violence. It won 5,000+ gram panchayat seats in the state, beating the Communist party by a heavy margin. The emergence of BJP as the second largest party even after unleashing the highest possible series of terror on them has surprised even the TMC workers.

According to a report on ABP News Bangla, the frustrated TMC workers have taken to harassing the winning BJP candidates. BJP candidates who have won elections are being beaten up by angry TMC goons who are frustrated with their loss. In their bid to wipe out every other party from West Bengal, they have started attacking the homes of the BJP candidates, forcing them to flee. A great number of winning BJP candidates have fled to Jharkhand in order to save themselves from mortal peril. Families of BJP workers are being threatened to move out of their houses while candidates are being threatened with bogus cases in complicity with the West Bengal police. Many of these candidates are the sole breadwinners for their respective families. Their absence will lead to further problems for their family in the villages. That is what the TMC wants. It wants them to move out of their houses and villages so that they can eliminate BJP from the grassroots level. With BJP wiped out, there will be no more strong opposition for TMC in the state come 2019. Mamata’s whole plan is to win all the Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal by hook or by crook in order to stake her claim to the PM seat in 2019. Her party is not afraid to play dirty in order to help her disillusioned objective.

While Mamata Banerjee received second class treatment at the oath taking ceremony of H. D. Kumaraswamy in Karnataka, she has turned deaf ears towards the murder of democracy going on in her own state. Her ambitions and the means she is willing to resort to, knows no bounds as has been revealed before and after the elections. A pitiable thing to do for the CM of a state which has seen the murder of 50+ people prior and post the elections. This is the face Mamata Banerjee does not want the rest of India to see, the despotic instincts hidden beneath her pleas of forming an anti-Modi third front which she wants to lead. Let’s hope for the sake of democracy in India that she never reaches to a position of power to influence entire Country’s policies. Otherwise, we would all be in mortal danger.
