Sridevi’s Unfortunate Death politicized by Congress Party

Sridevi Congress

Mai Madira nahi Peeti Ji” says a shy Anju (Sridevi) to a rowdy Jaggu (Rajnikanth ) when the latter asks her to join him for a round of Tharra (Country made liquor). A simple dialogue delivered so earnestly by Sridevi, that makes us laugh out loud but at the same time feel sad about the troubled Anju, who was brought up in her father’s house, bullied by her stepmother and her brother. This is the 1989 movie Chaalbaaz I am talking about. How many actresses can star alongside Sunny Deol and Rajnikanth and manage to outshine them? Sridevi was one such actor, a powerhouse of talent and she was impossibly beautiful. She was the perfect specimen of feminine charm.

The entire nation woke up to the terrible and tragic news of Sridevi passing away in Dubai after a massive cardiac arrest. She was just 54. Sridevi was in Dubai for a family function. Her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi were with her at the time of her death.

Sridevi’s untimely death sent Bollywood into a state of shock too. Almost every Bollywood personality took to twitter to express their condolences and support to the aggrieved family.

Politicians were no exceptions either. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted his condolences. “Saddened by the untimely demise of noted actor Sridevi. She was a veteran of the film industry, whose long career included diverse roles and memorable performances. My thoughts are with her family and admirers in this hour of grief. May her soul rest in peace,” he said.’

President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted: “Shocked to hear of passing of movie star Sridevi. She has left millions of fans heartbroken. Her performances in films such as Moondram Pirai, Lamhe and English Vinglish remain an inspiration for other actors. My condolences to her family and close associates.”

But there is one party that never fails to shock us. The party that knows how to take out political advantage from even the most unfortunate incidents. It’s ofcourse the Congress Party.

As the entire nation was mourning the loss of Sridevi and trying to come to terms with the fact that she is not with us anymore, here’s what Congress did. Take a look at what Congress tweeted.

We regret to hear about the passing away of Sridevi. An actor par excellence. A legend who will continue to live in our hearts through her stellar body of work.

Our deepest condolences to her loved ones. She was awarded the Padma Shri by the UPA Govt in 2013.

It takes a lot of immorality to come up with a condolence message like this. Congress couldn’t let go of politics even in a condolence message. It was pointless to boast about the fact that Sridevi was awarded the Padma Shri by the UPA Govt in 2013 was insensitive and opportunist.

This certainly wasn’t missed by people. The apparent politicization of Sridevi’s death by Congress left people fuming!

In the bid to get more Retweets and Shares on Social Media, Congress has abandoned the basic tenets of decency and humanity. Their politicization of Sridevi’s untimely death was most unfortunate!
