Basirhat Riots: Because when Hindus are attacked, Riots aren’t Riots

The thundering silence of media on the recent riots at Baduria and Basirhat in West Bengal is a stark contrast to the brouhaha the campaign “Not in my name” carried.

The previously arcane world of jingoistic journalism is coming to the fore with selective mutism of media. The media runs the propaganda deliberately keeping the point out of focus on their masters behest. The propaganda is to portray a negative image of India internationally ever since Modi rose to power crushing the already crumbling dynasty which upset the dynasty serving left bending “elitists” of India. Modi has captured the minds and hearts of India. No leader in the past has had such a connect with the masses, it is time media moves on and drops their propaganda.

Hindu mocking and bashing with minority appeasement and division of public along various lines have since long been the game of mainstream media and their political masters. The media has a blind eye turned to the brutality against Hindus both in India and it’s neighbouring countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh. Nobody instils the feeling of self-flagellations among Hindus like the Indian media. They quite specialise in it.

The latest example comes in the form of riots in West Bengal under the “secular and just” (sic) leadership of Mamata Bannerjee.

I wonder the reason why media does not cover the riots there, is it because the last time only Zee news and it’s reporter Sudhir Chaudhary covered Dhulagarh riots and were promptly charged at with FIR? The freedom of speech of press as you know could not be applied in that event or even current riots because: “secular logic”. The same secular logic was used when Sh. Manmohan Singh Ji claimed that “Muslims must have the first claim on resources”.

The current media fetish is to have a Muslim name and to add beef “masala” to it, all other matters can not be more important and not to forget “gau rakshak”. Anything else that happens is just ho hum.

The valley of bias runs deep and wide as they have their agenda to point out the death of minorities only when they are Muslims in order to vilify the Hindus while they continue to remain tight lipped on brutal attacks on Hindus, destruction of property and absolute mayhem in Basirhat, West Bengal. The angry mobs have assaulted villagers, attacked vehicles, looted shops, desecrated and torched temples while our media is fixated on the spat between the CM of West Bengal and the Governor.

The “not in my name” protestors were able to find religion in a spat over indecent comments on a girl and push beef into it but so far they have neither found the religion of people in Sh Ayub Pandith‘s murder, nor in the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits and the present riots in West Bengal and not to mention the riots of the past.

What leaves one aghast is that years ago a young boy watched his entire family massacred brutally in front of his eyes, more details in the book: Our moon has blood clots. Then what has changed now? Why is there an outrage over isolated incidents versus that incident. Why can Akhlaq still be summoned into discussion and not that boy? Because of his religion? The black ink with which the “Not in my name” event was covered has dried for that young boy and his family and countless others in Basirhat. This is the Indian media for you and the media outrages are selective, deatheningly sick and full of perversion.
