The Unbelievable Loophole In India’s Anti-Terror Policy

amarnath terror attack

Terror has gripped Jammu & Kashmir yet again. A total of three terror attacks in a span of one hour were executed by terrorists belonging to terror outfit Lashkar e-Tayabba, 2 attacks on CRPF and Army Camps respectively and one on a bus carrying Amarnath Yatra Pilgrims. The bus was travelling from Baltal to Jammu carrying 20 odd innocent pilgrims when it was attacked by terrorists.

While it is currently being reported that around 7 people (5 Females and 2 Male) have lost their lives and about 11-13 people have sustained grave injuries, the situation is still developing and more fatalities are expected.

It is appalling to see that every time there is a religious pilgrimage that takes place in Jammu & Kashmir, it is always under heavy bandobast, protected by the Army and the CRPF. For the last 30 years, India has only been reactive and not pro-active in weeding out these Islamic terrorists, be it in the 90’s when Kashmiri Pandits were ethnically cleansed or the intermittent attack on Hindus and Hindu pilgrims going for Amarnath Yatras.

Terror organisations over the last 2 months have been conspiring and engaging in incidents ensuring that the situation in the Valley remained grim. Be it the cold blooded murder of Mohammed Ayub Pandith, an officer of the Jammu & Kashmir police, Lt Ummer Fayaz of the Indian Army who was picked up in Shopian where he was attending his cousin’s wedding or that of Constable Shabir Ahmad who was shot dead on 15th of June. This attack on innocent unarmed civilians was a final step in their evil design to celebrate the 1 year death anniversary of terrorist Burhan Wani.

Terrorists have been targeting individuals who they know are unarmed and incapable of retaliating. This act of cowardice by these terrorists have become so common that readers (Indian citizens) today keep scrolling through their news feeds, rolling their eyes thinking how another Jawan/officer lost his life to some militants. The propaganda by media organizations is so strong that no one questions the involvement of extremist Islamist ideologies behind these terrorist attacks, afraid of being branded as Hindu extremists/Bhakts/Hinduvadi so on and so forth.

CM Mehbooba playing politics over dead bodies

The Mehbooba Mufti government in Jammu & Kashmir has done nothing in the last 2 years to curb the situation. CM Mehbooba Mufti has been engaging with her peace doves, ensuring that rather than improving the ground situation, extremism and violence in the valley only increases, because it helps their line of politics.

The BJP on the other-hand has been giving in to Mehbooba’s pathetic petty politics. Back in 2015 when BJP received a massive unprecedented mandate in J&K Polls, it had promised the masses that the citizens of J&K would live in a terror free Kashmir. They had promised to bring peace to the valley. What has ensued 2 years into power is that the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has directed the J&K Government to give (INR) Rupees 10 Lakhs to the stone pelter, Farooq Dar, who was tied to the jeep my Major Mitul Gogoi. It is ironical that the officer who saved hundreds of lives by using his quick presence of mind, is questioned for his actions but the stone pelter is given Rs. 10 Lakhs by the authorities in J&K.

As Indians, we cringe every time such terror attacks happen, hoping that the government would take stringent action this time around and teach these Islamic terrorists and their sympathisers a lesson but the action is never taken or even if it is, it is not potent enough to make these terrorists stop.

Pakistan’s nefarious design to keep the valley on the boil and in-turn destabilise India

Pakistan after losing Kargil in 1999 have adopted to a much cost efficient and effective way to snatch Kashmir from India and that is by harbouring terrorists in Pakistan and sending them across the border in India to create communal tension.

The government should take a cold calculated move and eliminate the perpetrators and their handlers with ruthlessness. And although we as citizens don’t expect the government to take any Knee-Jerk reaction, the citizens expect the stringent of the actions this time. Militancy has created enough problems for India, but now all those harbouring terrorists or sympathising with these terrorists should be dealt with the strictest of actions.

No #Notinmyname this time, since victims are pathetic Hindu pilgrims

No journalist or human right activist or the #notinmyname award wapsi brigade would dare to condemn these terrorists. The Prashant Bhushans, Arundhati Roy’s, who cry for human rights every time a terrorist is killed, or create sob-stories of their (terrorist’s) past calling them misguided youths of school headmasters, should shut down their shops which seek to protect extremist Islamic terrorists and create an eco-system which creates safe havens for these terrorists in India itself.

This  comes on a day when a stone pelter was given 10 Lakhs by the J&K Human Rights commission.

Conclusion:

Time for Presidential Rule:

The Armed forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) needs to be enforced in the valley with much more vigour and aggression today. And while the Army is given a free hand to deal with the situation at hand in the valley, Presidential rule should be imposed in Kashmir, driving out the Mehbooba Mufti government.

This act of cowardice threatens the secular fabric of India and if not responded adequately, would only encourage these terrorists to attack innocent civilians again.

Jai Hind.
