We as a society and as very socially aware, enlightened and worrisome citizens of this great country have already clicked our mouse and keypads around a hundred thousand times to argue with a fellow citizen, not necessarily to argue and defame the other party. In the present era of enlightened sense of social responsibility, we all feel obliged to contribute our bit towards a better future of our beloved country. Sometimes we feel a status, a like, a retweet or a share does that for us. No denying the fact that it surely makes a difference. Every voice raised does makes a difference in my opinion.

Today over 300 million Indians have internet access. That’s 24% of our population, and the figure’s steadily on the rise. This chunk of our population doesn’t perceive what others want it to perceive, it chooses for itself. It can see through all the positives as well as all the deceit. And once it understands what it sees, it can make or break anything. In such an environment, it becomes imperative for the authorities to shed their hypocrisy. But what if the authorities, the regulators become biased?

Liberals are silencing voices they do not approve of. Of course, they claim to support Freedom of Expression but their version of it comes with its Terms and Conditions. Thus it happened that recently when Paresh Rawal suggested on Twitter that the Army tie Arundhati Roy in front of their jeep instead of a stone pelter, liberals had a collective meltdown on Social Media. How dare Paresh Rawal suggest that we treat an enemy of the nation as we would an enemy? Such nuance is obviously lost on liberals. In the end, Twitter, being the ‘Safe Space’ for liberals that it is, forced Paresh Rawal to delete his tweet. Sonu Nigam was bullied so much that he was forced to quit Twitter and Singer Abhijeet’s account was suspended when clearly more abusive profiles exist on the other side of the spectrum.
