Now, Pakistan has no option, but to release Kulbhushan Jadhav unharmed

Scene1: Somewhere near the Afghan-Baluchistan-Iran border gun and rocket launcher trotting mullahs make a catchy prize by kidnapping an Indian. Moments later they realize they have laid hands on a gold mine, because the Indian kidnapped is an ex-naval officer, next they strike a deal with the Pakistan based ISI and sell him for gold. Baluchistan has been brewing for long with demand for a separate nation and Pakistan has been trying very hard to link it with cross border terrorism to justify its active support to the Kashmiri militants and blunt India’s argument in the international arena by making a case out of this instance and Indian support to Baluchistan.

It has been almost a year now, Kulbhushan Jadhav the kidnapped Indian has still not been granted consular access to the Indian High commissioner in Pakistan to understand his version of story in spite of multiple reminders, thus a clear violation of the Vienna convention.

The Indian govt has been trying to get details related to him practically approaching at all levels in the Pakistani establishment, but it’s all in vain.

Scene2: Mohammad Habib Zahir, a retired Lt. Col from the Pakistani army lands in Kathmandu, Nepal from Lahore via Oman. Post retiring from the army on 31st Oct 2014 Lt. Col Zahir has been looking for a job as a security consultant probably with a third world country or even with the United Nations. His CV looked impressive and a UK based consultant named Mark Thompson from a company “Strategic Solutions” did shortlist him for a final round of interview and the destination chosen was Lumbini in Nepal near Indo–Nepal border. His offer for the job was an impressive $8,500 / month and a business class ticket from Lahore to Oman to Kathmandu to Lumbini. The guy fell for it and on 6th April post lunch he was lost, no one is aware about his whereabouts till date.

Anyone who has played a game of chess is aware what it takes to win the game.

This move has made the Pakistani establishment specially the military so jittery that one of their “kangaroo” courts in a knee jerk reaction ordered the announcement of hanging Kulbhushan Jadhav on charges of espionage, but once again one who knows the real game of chess knows Pakistan just cannot afford to do that.

Kulbhushan Jadhav is not a RAW agent, in fact even if he is one ….. our respect, love and pride rises four fold for his courage and bravery towards the nation.

India as a nation has reacted very sharply to this with warning Pakistan of dire consequences. It has stopped release of few Pakistani this week which were to be released as a goodwill gesture and have accelerated its attempt to gather international support on this issue. The foreign minister & the home minister has assured the nation they will do whatever it takes to get this brave man from the clutches of the enemy.

The strategy of cornering Pakistan at all front to get the Indian released is bold and fool-proof.

If this works, it will be a task more dauntless and daring probably no less than a surgical strike.

Back home, some politicians and their son-in-law out of nowhere found some time to react on these developments. They even had an idea for the Modi govt to be “brave”, probably as “brave” as his party was “brave” during and the aftermath of the Mumbai attacks.

Mr. Robert Vadra, the son-in-law or “damadjee” (as he is lovingly referred to) of the congress first family goes on further and says “In retaliation, our government has decided to not send back 12 Pakistan prisoners. Is that all we can do for the Indians held by Pakistan? For the sake of entire nation, the government should take every step to save Jadhav’s life. I thought with the stop overs and celebrations of our premieres, we would have closer relations.”

This is how a leacher will try to gain mileage out of a brave soldier fighting for the country.
On the board of chess with the knights and the bishops and the rooks and the pawns spread across, Pakistan has NO option, but to release the Indian unharmed.
