UP just got a glimpse of a how a Yogi works

Yogi Adityanath, famous for his no-nonsense attitude, has started demonstrating his fierce administrative skills right from the very onset. The 7-day long suspense, since 11th March, finally came to an end after Yogi was declared BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate on 18th March. Putting aside the cry of liberal media, he was sworn in as the 21st Chief Minister of the most populous state of the country, Uttar-Pradesh, and since then he is on roll.
His determination to deliver on the lines of BJP’s manifesto “Lok Kalyan Sankalpa Patra ” is evident from the speed and intensity of decisions taken within last 3 days. The UP-state government has launched a state – wide lock – down campaign against illegal abattoirs. 20 acres of land was approved in the very first cabinet meeting for the construction of a magnificent Ramayana Museum in Ayodhya. Anti – Romeo squads were formed in 11 districts in record time.

SHUT DOWN OF SLAUGHTERHOUSES

Though Uttar-Pradesh Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act, 1955 clearly criminalized any abattoir operating within the state, still cow meat industry in UP rose to one of the highest in the country. Successive governments never cared about the issue. A part of the reason was that some of the major slaughterhouses are owned by leaders of SP, BSP and Congress and of course the overlook of such a sensitive matter was a part of their agenda of minority appeasement. During this election, BJP seriously took up this issue. Their manifesto clearly stated, ” stern steps for closing down all illegal slaughterhouses besides banning mechanised slaughterhouses shall be taken ” and CM Adityanath has started to resolutely deliver on the same lines.

Within few hours of his swearing in on Sunday, two illegal slaughterhouses were sealed in Allahabad. Next day there was a massive crack down on slaughterhouses functional in Meerut and on Tuesday, Ghaziabad too faced the wrath.

National Green Tribunal had already ordered the closure of these slaughterhouses almost a year ago, reportedly these were violating the norms and discharging animal carcasses in the rivers. Several Animal Welfare Organisations are openly admiring this step of the newly elected government. These organisations had been raising voice, since a long time, against the cruelty the animals were subjected to before slaughtering inside these houses. UP Pollution Control Board has been directed to compile a list of all abattoirs functional in the state and present it to the state government.

RAMAYANA MUSEUM IN AYODHYA

In the very first cabinet meeting, CM Adityanath cleared 20 acres land in Ayodhya for building a magnificent Ramayana Museum. Shri Mahesh Sharma, Minister for Culture & Tourism, had personally selected the site in October 2016. But it was the previous Akhilesh Yadav government which declined to grant permission. It is imperative to mention here that the same Akhilesh Yadav government not only completed the construction of the long pending 2nd Haj House in Ghaziabad but also approved the proposal for a 3rd Haj House in Varanasi. First one already being in Lucknow.

ANTI – ROMEO SQUAD

For the purpose of securing the safety of women in state, Amit Shah has been quite vocal about forming “Anti – Romeo Squads” during election campaigns. Delivering on the promise, only within two days of forming the government CM Adityanath constituted an “Anti – Romeo Squad” operational under DGP, Lucknow Police. Currently it will function for 11 districts under Lucknow zone. Soon such squads shall be formed in every other district of the state. In order to strictly crack down on eve-teasers and those passing lewd comments on girls, the state government has decided to charge culprits under Gangster Act. A welcome move in the state notorious for vulnerability of women safety.

CONCLUSION

The decision of CM to prevent every Cabinet Minister from using Red Light on their vehicles is seen as a milestone decision. His order for every Minister and official to declare their assets within 15days is making news everywhere.

With “farmer’s loan waiver” also on line Yogi Adityanath has made his intentions very clear.

He is not somebody who will beat around the bush but shall be stern in his every decision. Liberal media , crying over job losses due to action on slaughterhouses, neither cried on job losses when leather factories in Kanpur got closed nor on shut down of jute and cotton mills in Allahabad. All those demanding hospital in place of Ramayana Museum never questioned tax – payers’ funds spent on building Haj Houses. Hence their hypocrisy lies exposed. Neither the voters in UP care anymore nor CM Adityanath himself.
