When the going gets tough, Fadnavis gets going

Devendra Fadnavis

After 15 years of corrupt and incompetent rule of Congress-NCP led Maharashtra state government BJP-ShivSena alliance marched to the throne. And as expectated, the Devendra Fadanvis government is leaving no stones unturned in making sure that Maharashtra regains its glory as the most flourishing state of India.

When it comes to corruption, Fadanvis has shown rare guts. His crackdown doesn’t depend on the position and rank of the politician or bureaucrat or his political affiliations. Just like the center the state opposition is a bunch of nobodies with zero agenda and real issues. Hence to create obstacles and to slow the pace of the development of the state down, the wonky opposition is formulating ill attributions. But the adroit Fadanvis is is ducking and kicking wisely.

Below is a quick list of incidents where Fadnavis exhibited his crisis resolution skills

  1. The Bhujbal Episode – Immediately after assuming the office he ordered inquiry on the series of scams by the previous government. And the accused Bhujbal family is behind the bars for corruption. Bhujbal’s political and social stature was not taken into consideration, even once.

After the strict actions on Bhujbals, opposition tried to frame Fadnavis as anti-backward class and called for an OBC March for his release but the movement bombed and people of Maharashtra stood by the Government. This was an indication to both Fadanvis and Opposition that state wants to eradicate corruption and that can only be done by removing the corrupts.

  1. NCP MLA Ramesh Kadam Episode – Fadnavis also ordered inquiries against the scam in Anna Bhau Sathe Corporation and another NCP MLA Ramesh Kadam was found guilty for scam of 132 cr and is under trial.
  2. 3. Eknath Khadse Episode – His anticorruption crusade is not limited to the opposition but extends right inside his own party. He expelled veteran BJP leader Eknath Khadse after the allegations of corruption. A proof that he isn’t going to be soft on any one.
  3. Maratha Agitation – Helpless opposition tried to politicize the unfortunate Rape and murder case of Kopardi village in Maharashtra and corner the state government but Fadanvis was quick to reassure justice to the victims. Opposition even tried to latch on to the Maratha Kranti Morcha’s antigovernment protests organized for justice for rape victim of Kopardi Village and Maratha Reservation. Fadanvis showed rare political will by reaching a consensus with the protesters and took Maratha Population into his fold. The result was quite visible in municipal elections.
  4. Pansare and Dabholkar episode – One of the most unfortunate events in the state of Maharashtra was the murder of anti-superstition crusader Narendra Dabholkar and veteran communist leader Govind Panasare. Dabholkar’s murder took place in Congress-NCP regime, but the opposition and Main stream media tried to pin it on to BJP and the entire right wing ecosystem but times have changed and people have become wiser. They saw Fadnavis Government pacing up the investigation which was what they desired. The new facts suggest that Dabholkar was murdered not because of religious abhorrence but some property issues.

Irrespective of the belligerent opposition, the Fadnavis government has done commendable work in the state.

He has encouraged investment in state from corporate giants. He has worked extensively for empowering police department. Other ministers are doing great work as well. Most notably, education minister Vinod Tawade has introduced new University act which has provision of open student council elections which were banned earlier. He has taken steps to control the powers of educationists which is a good sign of clean education system.

Another Minister Pankaja Munde of rural development ministry has done extensive work in land irrigation sector and it was recognized and honored by PM Modi.

Devendra Fadnavis leads the kind of government which works hard towards wellbeing of Farmers, students and backwards. Even the supporters of other parties accept that government is working for welfare of society.
