Trust Trump or Don’t Trust Trump? History says Don’t!

Forget Trump, perhaps I don’t believe any White Man!

John Nixon, former CIA official who interrogated Saddam Hussain feels the now long dead Iraqi ruler should have been left to rule the now ravaged country. Based on his interviews with Saddam, he felt the repressive regime of Saddam would never have allowed an organisation like Daesh (ISIS). Saddam himself expected the Americans to fail, as they don’t speak the language and understand the Arab mind as well.

In fact, Saddam was the best of the lot of rulers the Arab world has seen in the last five or six decades. Though he was always at war with one or the other country, Iraq was the only country where women were educated and working and driving cars, in the nineties. Despite razed to ground in ’91, he rebuilt entire Iraq in the next five years.

Then, the global police had thought Saddam made some ‘weapons of mass destruction’ and so invaded Iraq. And the devastation we see today in the larger areas of middle-east was the result of that invasion. At the starting of the present decade, there were many uprisings in middle-east countries that were supported by the democratic America, worsening the situation and forcing mass migration to foreign countries.

In “A People’s History of the United States” by Howard Zinn, on returning from his first voyage to what he believed to be India, Columbus explains in the court of Madrid: “are so naive and so free with their possessions that no one who has not witnessed them would believe it. When you ask for something they have, they never say no. To the contrary, they offer to share with anyone….”

He was talking of Arawak Indians. And what he did to them? In his quest for gold he promised to his masters, he made entire Arawaks slaves and forced them to work in gold mines. Bartolome de las Casas, a young priest had chronicled exploits of Columbus.
How the Arawaks were before their ill-fate brought Columbus to their islands? Las Casas explains: “Marriage laws are non-existent men and women alike choose their mates and leave them as they please, without offense, jealousy or anger. They multiply in great abundance; pregnant women work to the last minute and give birth almost painlessly; up the next day, they bathe in the river and are as clean and healthy as before giving birth. If they tire of their men, they give themselves abortions with herbs that force stillbirths. They had no religion, no temples. Women in Indian society were treated so well as to startle the Spaniards.”

Well, by the time Columbus was done with them, no Arawaks were left. In his quest for gold, he made them slaves and they were tortured by the Spaniards.

And, nowhere in history we read about this incident and no one called it ‘Genocide’!
Take Africa, where the gift of the white man to the ancient people on the earth was – Syphilis and Gonorrhoea? In exchange of diamonds? The treatment of ‘African Nigger Slaves’ by the ‘White Masters’ was perhaps the most chronicled exploits.

In India, two famines were orchestrated by the British Raj.

One in the 1771 and the other in 1942. When Brits took over from Mughal the right of ‘tributes’ (they don’t use the word tax for fear of people uprising), they increased it from 15 to 50 percent of the harvest. And when the harvest was failing, unlike the Indian rulers, they don’t provide support to the peasants but increase the rate of tax, as some of the peasants were already dead due to famine. And all this was to fill the coffers of her majesty.

In 1942, in the midst of Second World War, British had sabotaged half of the ships that were used to transport food grains, only to prevent Japanese from moving further from Burma to Calcutta. Coupled with natural drought, the sense of famine caused many to hoard grains and the result was the lives of thirty million Bengalis – almost equal to the lives of Jews lost to Hitler. All the while, our peaceful leaders were supporting the British in their cause by allowing 2.4 million Indian soldiers in a war that was nowhere related to them.

When there was a danger of serious famine in Bengal in 1943–4, Churchill announced that the Indians “must learn to look after themselves as we have done… there is no reason why all parts of the British empire should not feel the pinch in the same way as the mother country has done.” Still more disgracefully, he said in a jocular way that “the starvation of anyhow underfed Bengalis is less serious than that of sturdy Greeks.”

Well, do I need to explain further? Churchill’s supporters may argue he did whatever he could. But, it was not India’s war. British looted India for three centuries and still was using Indian soldiers to further cause; but Indian lives were not considered equal to the lives of the English.

The history of Australia in making aborigines extinct has no precedence! And their hand in ‘failing’ to transport wheat to India in 1942 due to ban on export was the least discussed.
With such a great back ground, if Hindus living in America feel Donald Trump would be helping them, especially preferring over Muslims, it is a daydream. Trump may be helping Hindus over Muslims, for the time being and had issued few statements supporting them. It should only be seen as part of election strategy. Nothing more, nothing less. For now, Donald Trump equates Muslims with ISIS. And so, this anti-Muslim tirade. Like all his predecessors, he is sided with another dictator in Syria, who happens to fight ISIS – and this is temporary. Once the ISIS is over and when the threat from the Islamic terror organisations diminishes, he shall keep in his mind, only the interests of Americans.

And Trump ’s strategy is not defined by being ‘Anti’ to someone, but by being ‘Pro’ to Americans.

If Hindus in India think that they are Indians, it is not strange if the White in America think, they are the only Americans. And that would keep Hindus in a different perspective.
Perhaps, migration of humans is not at all a great idea. They better live, grow, evolve and create a civilisation of their own in the land they are born and – perish. At least they cannot blame others for exploiting them, as a community. But then, the nature may want people to migrate so that evolution is expedited so that humans can extinct early! Maybe I sound like a cynic, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

May be Crocodiles knew the perils of evolution and avoided it, so they could remain the same way they were millions of years ago. Then, Humans are not Crocodiles; and they know how to overcome nature.
