On a quiet Sunday with the valley steadily crippling back to normalcy, our revered Home minister, Mr. Rajnath Singh addressed the Shahidi Diwas function at Kathua (near Jammu). And while the Hon’ble Home Minister is rather unpopular for his mild demeanor (Kadi Ninda rhetoric), this Sunday the nation witnessed a rather contrasting aggressive side of Rajnath Singh, something that is very unusual considering the precedents set forth by him. His speech centered on the crux that Pakistan should not confuse India’s restraint as its weakness.
Speaking to the gathering, he stressed on Jammu-Kashmir’s important role in keeping India united under One Flag and the important role it would play in the coming years as India takes strides to make a transition from being considered a third world country to a first world country.

Rajnath Singh cautioned Pakistan demanding they desist from funding and aiding secessionist Ideologies (on religious lines).

The current government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was committed to the cause of taking everybody along (Sabka Satth Sabka Vikaas), the Home Minister said. “Kaisi hukumat, jis hukumat ke rehtey hue koi vyakti dara hua mehsoos kare, sehma hua mehsoos apne ko kare, kaisi hukumat?” This was probably the 1st Instance when the Home Minister was seen making such bold and fearless statements. In his speech he further warned Pakistan that while India had always believed in Global Peace (not having the expansionist mindset ever), the continual provocation from the Pakistani side (of harboring communal discontent) would lead to it being broken down into 10 Parts (this time as a revenge for its cowardly acts committed in Pathankot, Uri, Gurdaspur or the terrorist attacks of 26/11, Mumbai).

“We understand the reality that Pakistan is our neighbour and that friends may change in life, but not neighbours”. He further made statements taking Ex-PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s example of entering into talks with Pakistan even after the Kargil Incident. “Even after the Kargil war, Vajpayee extended a hand of friendship towards Pakistan.”

Speaking of unity and cultural integrity, Rajnath Singh reminded Pakistan that, India was probably the only country which could boast of all the 72 sects of Islam being practiced within its territory, unlike Pakistan which has since its independence become a graveyard of cultures and religions. “Kisi Islamic desh mein bhi Islam ke 72 ke 72 firke nahin paye jaate hain. Islam ke 72 firke agar duniya ke kisi ek desh ki dharti par paye jaate hain to hamare aur aapke desh ki dharti Bharat mein paaye jaate hain… “

Hardly any of the cultures which were a part of present day Pakistan exist today, be it Gujarathi, Kuchi, Sindhi, Balochi,Marwadi or Pashtuni (present in factions).

Pakistan’s aim of wanting to destabilize Kashmir has its own reasons. Kashmir is the head which holds the rest of the body together, and if the head remains unstable/volatile, the whole body (rest of the country) follows suit. This nefarious plan of wanting to decapitate Kashmir from India would only encourage other secessionist movements (Khalistani and Bodo).

“Hindu ho, Musalmaan ho, jo bhi Bharat Mata ki kokh se paida hue hain, woh… sabhi ek doosre ke bhai-bhai hain” stressing on the idea of unity in diversity, Rajnath Singh gave a piece of his mind in the strongest possible words to the ones sitting across border, that any efforts by them to destabilize India would be met with repercussions which are unprecedented and unforeseen for them.

Ending his speech, he appealed to his Pakistani counterparts, saying that if their forces could not control the terrorists and their activities, then why don’t they ask us (India) for help, the expression of pain and discomfort in his statements was for everyone to see when he in his closing remarks stated that “What shall we do? How many times shall we open our hearts? Even today, even though Pakistan has not cooperated with us, we want to live in peace and amity with it. We want peace, but we will not compromise with terrorism at any cost,”

This country was divided once on Religious lines, and those who did not wish to be a part of India (Bharat) then have done so, and any attempts to ignite another such movement would see them(Pakistan) be divided again (in 10 pieces this time).
