At the stroke of midnight when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom from Black Money. While everyone was busy discussing the American Elections, debating who amongst the two evils is better, Hillary or Trump, no one knew what Trump-Card PM Modi had planned to play. The timing of PM Modi has to be acknowledged, and with his policy declaration, he has proved it to the world, that no one is as smart a politician as he is and irrespective of which country has an election, everyone thinks and talks about India first.
Who would have thought at 8PM, that the PM would drop a bomb on the country which would effectively change its course for the decades to come!

When the PM started his speech his continued stress on the use of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 struck as a little odd, but who knew then what the PM had in store waiting for us.

The whole country came to a standstill when he put forth his decision (in consultation with the RBI) to scrap the current Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 Notes in circulation. From the waiter at the Hotel where I was having my dinner to the Watchman at a Jewellery store, who was witnessing a sudden influx of people, all were talking about it. The whole country went berserk with excitement over this mandated change in the way the Indian Economy would function post a few hours. Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook and the Prime Time hour debates on News Channels exploded with only one topic in discussion – The historic decision by PM Modi to scrap a certain currency and introduce a new denomination of Rs. 2000.

The whole address by the PM which was communicated both in Hindi and in English was a carefully executed decision planned for over 2 years. From the time Modi came into power in May, 2014 he set the ball rolling for all the events to follow as a natural consequence of each other.

The first decision was to set up a SIT on the Black Money, simultaneously he floated schemes wherein Bank Accounts for all the poor could be made and their Aadhar accounts were linked with their Bank Accounts thereby creating a massive database to keep a track and a record off, post which he introduced the Black Money Act and the plea to the citizens to disclose their black money by September 2016 which yielded Rs. 65,250 Cr and all the black money was in Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 denomination converted into scrap overnight by the PM.
With only 4 hours as a window time frame, PM Modi effectively closed all avenues of the black money to be diverted into any source which would legitimize it. His reasoning for scrapping these currencies was clear and straight-forward to get rid of all the fake currency being infused from Pakistan which would effectively have a huge impact on the funding of the Jihadis and Maoists and also setting the country free from the shackles of black economy.

With this move he won over his critics unanimously without a shred of doubt, except for Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Bangaal CM Mamata Banerjee and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Mamta Banerjee went a notch above demanding the PM to withdraw this draconian law which he sought to implement at the stroke of Midnight. It seems like she was worried about depositing all the money she received in the form of kick-backs from the Sharda Chit fund Scam.

PM Modi’s usual detractors were left with their mouth’s hanging open at his bold unprecedented move, with most of them running for cover trying to convert their currency denominations into smaller ones.

This move has the potential to benefit the average middle class and BPL Citizens who until today were subject to the anomalies of the system and had no other option but to participate in it with/without their choice.

The PM has taken the lead and has shown the citizens the way, it now depends upon us to either participate in it gracefully or get dragged in it as the system changes its form of functioning dynamically.

Even though this move by the PM is pro-poor and aims to bring the suppressed classes of the Indian society on parity with the average working class, the leftists will continue to oppose it. Keep an eye on all the posts coming in hereinafter which seek to create a campaign against the PM’s policies, for these are the people who are the real anti-nationals.
