Introduction: The nefarious plan of replacing books with guns and stones in the hands of the young Kashmiri students seems to have caught pace with fire. Over the last 4 Months 27 schools in Kashmir have been torched by separatists, which have resulted in them burning down to ashes leaving the students of those schools with no other option but to hit the streets agitating against the government, dancing to the tunes of the separatists.
These set of acts are not sporadic and thus cannot be looked at in isolation but in its entirety. Recapping our memory back to the 90’s, it is easy today for any reasonable man to see the path that is being followed by the secessionists. Back then (in the 90’s) they did the same with the Kashmiri Pandits, pushing them out systematically before destroying any or all of the Hindu traces left behind by the pundits from Kashmir. In the current situation, the burning of schools is also marked with malice of wanting to prohibit the poor students of Kashmir from procuring enlightenment via education and exposing their duplicity.
The motive of the separatists is simple, burn all schools (especially the government one’s) to ground and force the students into madrasas, where they can very conveniently brainwash these innocent children into prospective Burhan Wani’s, who’d then take-up arms against the very state which sought them to torchbearers of a better India, a better Kashmir.
Their attempt to turn the valley into a ghetto is gaining momentum because of the support they receive from eminent local politicians like Junaid Mattu and lawyers like Shabnam Lone who are hardcore sympathizers of people like Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Burhan Wani.
Latest Incident:
The latest site of incident which fell prey to the mischief of the separatist miscreants was the residential quarters of the principal of (D.I.E.T) which was set ablaze in (Sophian Kashmir) on the night of the 1st of November, 2016.
Thankfully there were no causalities, but the intention of the act was to inflict maximum harm and create the fear of these extremist elements in the mind and heart of the academicians.
Silence of the Adarsh Liberals:
While India has stealthily moved towards modernization of its own education system, the Kashmiri separatists have taken it upon themselves of taking the whole valley civilization into a perpetual state of darkness.
And even though such incidents are happening openly for all to see, none of the guardians of academia in India have raised their voice against these reprehensible acts of the separatists. Nayantara Sehgal, who had returned her sahitya akademi award over the rising intolerance in India has simply vanished from the scene, now that the country needs her voice the most, or Mr. K Satchianandan (the famous malyali poet) who had said that “The Akademi has failed in its duty to stand with the writers and to uphold freedom of expression guaranteed by the Constitution“, has said nothing over the outrageous violation of the Fundamental Rights of the Kashmiri students forced into jihad by the Wahabis.
Famous Kahsmiri writers/poets, Ghulam Nabi Khayal, Marghoob Banihali who had procured a lot of public attention at the time when they returned their awards during the Award Wapsi period have today hidden themselves in their teak wood houses, not wanting to raise any voice against their ‘true’ political masters – Geelani & Co, the Pakistani Army and the ISI.
This rather is true ‘intolerance’, where the authors (Award Wapsi Gang) have all the time and bravery in the world to criticize Modi, but are scared to even utter a single word against these separatists.
Aamir Khan, the famous artist who played the lead role in films like TaareZameen Par and Rang de Basanti had let his displeasure known saying that his wife had felt unsafe in their palatial house in Mumbai, but has since been silent on all the extremist intolerant activities carried out by these Jihadis. The silence and complacency on the part of these artists reeks of hypocrisy and collusion, their subjugation and surrender to the evil secessionist ideologies which seek to break the secular fabric of this country.
Modi’s dare to Pakistan on competition over Education:
When PM Modi on the 25th September had dared Pakistan to compete with India over Education, he sought Pakistan to raise the bar of their level of education and not to support terrorist activities in India to bring the bar down.
The separatist dream:
Geelani who calls for Bandh’s and lockdowns in Kashmir every other day, and orders the shutdown of schools, ensures that the school where his granddaughter studies remains open while all the other ones remain locked down.
This shows that the people who call the shots in Kashmir never let studies of their sons/daughters be hampered by their actions/decisions. But they do not think twice before creating chaos in the state, which has a serious impact over the lives of lakhs of poor Kashmiri students. They send their kins to English medium private schools, but seek to force the kashmiri students to attend madrasas to attain their ‘taaleem’.
Return of the Dark Ages:
The great Bollywood which otherwise has an opinion on everything, has conveniently skipped shooting films in Kashmir (on various occasions) and has rather chosen to go abroad to destinations like Switzerland and Singapore depriving the valley and its people off the livelihood they would have made out of the cinema Industry. Not one star has spoken over this topic in the last 20 years, or has sought to rebuild or reopen these movie theatre halls in Kashmir.
Mehbooba Mufti had once told that she wanted all her Kashmiri children to have the lifestyle which the other Indian students had, the pleasure of bunking school classes and going for a matinee movie show and all the fun things that children experienced as students. But at the current rate, if these separatists’ keep torching schools’, then watching films is secondary, going to school for Kashmiri children might become a distant dream.
Islamisation:
One heinous act after another, with a view to convert Kashmir into a hardcore Sharia compliant state, it is hard to believe, but there has been no movie theatre in the valley region for the last 20 years, this because watching films according to the extremists is against the norms of Sharia. 26 years back the first ones to bear the brunt of this extremism, were the Kashmiri Pandits, 20 years back it were the citizens of Kashmir who were deprived of enjoying the small pleasures of watching a film in a cinema hall and now it is the students of Kashmir who are tolerating this racket of the Kashmiris secessionists.
This charily planned execution aims to snatch Kashmir from India and annex it with Pakistan, thereby ensuring India’s rightful access to the rivers flowing from the foothills of Himalaya (Jhelum) is prohibited. It also seeks to disallow India from sharing a boundary with Central Asia and from accessing the oil & gas which come in from the Middle Eastern countries. This despicable dream which was given a design by the Pakistani Army and is today being executed by these separatists (on Pakistan funded money) have created a havoc in the beautiful valley
Hypocrisy of the Noble Laureate:
A single terrorist attack on a school in Peshawar in 2014, caught international media’s attention with gripping rage and fir, but the burning of 27 school’s has hardly made it to Page 10 of any international News Paper.
The famous Nobel Prize winner from Pakistan, ‘Malala’ who claims to be an education activist had cried uncontrollable tears post the Peshawar military school attacks, but has said nothing about the charring of schools in the valley. This duplicity of not wanting to get into controversy that has anything to do with Kashmir sets her priorities straight, and it also makes it amply clear that she is nothing more than a pawn used by the Pakistani Agencies to ensure the continued inflow of funds from the western countries and then subsequently divert those for their Jihad in Kashmir.
Conclusion: The Central Government combined with the State Government needs to take very strong steps to stop this menace which is sponsored from across the border. Secessionists like Geelani, Yasin Malik and the likes should be dealt with the stringiest sedition laws (for waging war against the nation) without much ado. This whole facade of democracy and having to follow the procedure laid down by law is not going to get India and Kashmiri’s anywhere. All that it is doing is helping the separatists buy more and more time and parallely is pushing the Kashmiris into a deep black hole which would make their return impossible. The government needs to follow the following three agenda’s urgently to make Kashmir a revenue generating/contributing state in the long run, they being;
- The government set up temporary camps which can be converted into schools at the earliest, so as to ensure that the studies of the Kashmiri students do not come to a scathing halt and subsequently build schools with better infrastructure and security which can withstand such sporadic attacks without having to close down itself.
- Shut down the secessionist voices entirely in the valley to ensure that peace and normalcy return, and finally
- Promote localities and outsider alike to invest in the development of the region which would harness the progress of Kashmiris bringing them on par with the rest of India.
