I have been vehemently supporting the army, the government and the country ever since the bam on Pakistani Artistes was imposed. By equating Modi’s diplomacy with Karan Johar’s filmmaking ace Director Anurag Kashyap has proved that the showbiz is not just pretentious but lacks basic general knowledge too.
However, my support for INDIA surprised many a people, including some of my friends, who inquisitively asked my motives. They were surprised, apparently, as to ‘why I was judging a book by its cover’. It is in reply to both my friends, as well as those, who are supporting the likes of Karan Johar, including Anurag Kashyap, that I write this hard hitting reply.
As of now, the Cinema Owners & Exhibitors Association of India has called for a ban on the movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, in hotspot for having Fawad Afzal Khan, a Pakistani actor, as one of the lead roles, for premiere in single screen theatres. Those against the ban, according to the Indian Express, are of the opinion that Karan Johar ‘will bear a lot of losses if the COEAI doesn’t change its decision on the movie that’s slated to release on October 28, just two days before Diwali.’
Okay, so according to the reports, Karan Johar is going to lose financially, if the ban on ADHM is successful. So? Is it INDIA’s loss? Let me make it clear, I’m not against the release of the film, if at all it releases, it is upto the audience, what I am against is the way people like Karan Johar are putting our nation’s self respect at stake by going ahead with a film, that indirectly gives perks to Fawad Khan for his performance, and in a way, his money will be involved in producing monsters that will wreak havoc in India. Don’t we know how Pakistan is expert at exporting terrorism?
Friends, if we have even an iota of self respect, we will not watch this movie. If Karan Johar is losing by the ban, let it be, after all he is losing only rupees, but what about the families of those, who gave up their lives for our freedom at Uri, Naushera, Pampore, Zakura attacks? What about them? Are a few bucks more important than our soldiers? Are our soldiers that cheap? Anurag Kashyap, this question also stands for you!
For those unaware, Anurag Kashyap the director of path breaking films like ‘Black Friday’ , ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ and of course ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ to name a few, shocked everyone by supporting people like Karan Johar on the issue of banning Pak artistes. He posted the following tweet:-

For once, I would ask Mr. Anurag Kashyap, are you high on the same stuff that Arvind Kejriwal snorts for his daily use? If not, then why is the need to drag Narendra Modi into such an issue? Agreed, that the move was a bit awkward, especially in the light of Pathankot attacks, but our motives weren’t wrong. Why should PM Modi apologize for that?
It’s not Modi ji’s decision by the way; the movie is banned in single screens by COEAI. Fight them if you can, and before anything else, Mr. Anurag Kashyap, try saying this issue in front of the families of the martyrs of the nation. Try saying this, in front of the families of martyrs like Captain Saurabh Kalia, Lance Naik Hemraj, or even precise, the martyrs from Pathankot and Uri attacks. I’m dead sure; you shall get a lesson for your life. Mr. Anurag Kashyap, being your personal fan, I’m extremely disappointed by your opinion. You’re not mocking Mr. Modi, with your support for ADHM, you’re mocking our country, and you’re mocking our martyred jawans! I’m ashamed of your words. Your concept might work with the likes of pseudo secular politicians, but not true INDIANS.
One of my friends, who was surprised by my words against Anurag Kashyap, reiterated the fact that politics, entertainment, work and education are different fields. I agree with you, if the situation was ideal. But here, the issue is India vs. terrorism, the supreme trader of which, unfortunately, is our neighbor Pakistan. Just like our celebrities pay taxes to the government, among other things, so will the Pakistani artistes, the same money, even in a fraction, will be given by the government of Pakistan to institutions like ISI, Jamaat ud Dawa etc., whose work on terrorism is world famous. So aren’t we funding our own deaths by providing luxuries, including money, to these Pakistani artistes, who indirectly sponsor terrorism? And what’s with this fascination of artistes from Pakistan? Are our own artists dead, or we do lack such people in the film industry?
Also, she talked about silence not necessarily amounting to support. In situations like these, if Pakistani artistes are working in INDIA, the least they could have done is to condemn the attacks on Uri, and if you say so, I also have proofs of some of them, including Fawad Khan, for condemning every random terror attack, except for those that have happened either on INDIA or on the Indian armed forces. Isn’t this hypocrisy?
In such circumstances, if you know you’re on the wrong side (In case of Pakistani artistes), and yet stay silent on such issues, doesn’t it amount to support? Silence is such cases, my friend, equals tolerance of crime, and tolerance of crime is worse than committing the crime itself. As one gentleman said, it is the silence of the good that allows evil to win, if at all it does. I hope this satisifies some of the queries.
For the pseudo liberals, especially the illogical folks like Karan Johar; have some shame, even Adnan Sami, who is barely a year old as an INDIAN, is supporting the Indian stance much better than you all. Is patriotism a crime? Is INDIA first so bad to follow? In the name of progressive talk, they can sell their self respect and characters but not me. For those, who speak of concepts like mutual understanding, universal brotherhood etc., these concepts work well only if you have good neighbors, who are willing to cooperate, and not scallywags like Pakistan and China.
Got that mate? Still not then Rahne do…tumse naa ho payega.
Call it whatever you want, but like Nana Patekar said, in the wake of surgical strikes on terror launchpads and Pak actors issue, ‘These issue come later, first comes my country!’ Probably in such a context, this dialogue from ‘BABY’ defines the nationalist’s profile very well:-
“Religion wala jo column hota hai na, usmein hum bold aur capital mein ‘INDIAN’ likhte hain”
