When Uri attack happened, PM Modi immediately took to twitter and proclaimed “People behind this will not go unpunished”. He also said that Pakistan should be answered in the language it understands.

PM  Modi walked the talk. Indian Army cracked down on the laboratory of terrorists clearly hinting at the prospect of more such strikes if Pakistan doesn’t mend its way.

The nation was seething in rage after the Uri Attack and they wanted nothing less than a military action. While India successfully led the diplomatic battle against Pakistan forcing the world community to sideline Pakistan, the collective rage of the nation was not appeased.

But this Surgical strike should be seen more than just revenge for Uri Attack or Appeasing the wrath of the nation. This Surgical strike clearly paves the path for a long battle ahead.

As it turns out, India has delivered a stinging blow to Pakistan across the LoC. As per the DGMO briefing, surgical strikes were conducted at 2AM last night. Gunships were used during strikes. A large number of causalities have been reported on the Pakistani side.

DGMO stated that despite urging to Pak to not allow territory under its control to be used for terrorist activities nothing was done. There has been a surge in infiltration. At least 20 infiltration attempts have been foiled by the Indian Army this year. In its bid to curb infiltration, Indian Army conducted surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the Line of Control.

Talking about the operation, DGMO said that Heavy damages have been caused to terrorists and many of them have been killed. India has shared the details of surgical strikes with Pakistan army. India expects them to cooperate in the fight against terror.

As per reports there has been condemnation in Pakistan. Pakistan Army and Nawaz sharif have strongly condemned the Surgical strike, clearly spelling out their attitude towards curbing corruption.

Prime Minister Modi informed President Pranab Mukherjee and updated the Vice President and former Prime Minister Mahmohan Singh about the surgical strikes.
