I do realize it’s very easy to hate India, this great nation of ours. It’s very easy to complain about the myriad of afflictions that riddle the development of our country. It’s very easy to overly focus on the numerous Social Evils prevalent in our Society and feel undue hatred for the country grow in your Heart. It’s very easy to look at the Developed Western Countries and rue the fact that our Nation is still developing. It’s very easy to glorify the West and denigrate our Motherland.
But the question has never been what’s wrong with our country, it has always been, “What do you bring to the table?” Anyone with the Mental Faculties of a Cow with Down syndrome can point out all the things that are wrong here. My question is, “What can you do to make this country a better place?”
We have an overabundant supply of Morbidly Pessimistic Youth in this land and that has got to change. We have an overabundant supply of Young People who think saying they feel ashamed to be Indians is something to be proud of. We have an overabundant supply of morons who think hating on India gives them some sort of Moral Superiority over the others and that has to change if we are to fulfill our potential as a nation.
Remember, this is the land our forefathers sacrificed their lives for, so that one day we could walk as Free Men.
Remember, this is the land which has nurtured Warriors who have defended the ethos of Freedom and Liberty for a thousand years.
Remember, this is the land that Glorifies War and Victory and Valour but also cherishes Forgiveness and Kindness and Tolerance.
Remember, this is the land that has never learnt how to bow to Tyranny. Fathers and Sons and Brothers and Mothers and Daughters and Sisters will happily March to their Death but will never ever give in to Tyranny.
India is our greatest glory and our most terrible tragedy. India is a Giant which has been forced to crawl by the Tides of Time but has now decided it’s time for her to rise and shine.
India is the only Beacon of Hope and Tolerance in the Subcontinent and will continue to serve as such for the foreseeable future. Even for the sensible people of Bangladesh and Pakistan and Afghanistan, India is their only hope. It doesn’t matter if they are willing to acknowledge the fact or not.
Now is not the time to shy away from our responsibilities by declaring there’s no hope left for this country. Now is not the time to harp on and on about its Shortcomings and waste crucial time in the process which could have been spent working for its betterment. Now is not the time to be bitter about all the injustices you have been forced to suffer.
After all, India never promised you a joy ride. It only presented you with an opportunity. An opportunity to find some meaning in your lives, an opportunity to make a living for yourself and lead a life with dignity. An opportunity to build something bigger. And better.
Remember, the Motherland we call India has been home to Civilization for over Five Thousand Years. The Greeks perished, so did the Mighty Romans. And so did a thousand other Civilizations. But India, it lives on and on. Which would have been impossible had there not been the Youth to live and die for this great land of ours.
