For someone who was on the training bench for more than one decade and was famous for his goof-ups, Rahul Gandhi should be restricting himself to only providing comic relief to the citizens, who care to watch and study the political arena. Instead, he sometimes feel a superhero, may be after watching the latest episode of ‘Chhota Bheem’ perhaps in the newly installed 3D television.
It is an established fact that fearing for their life the entire Gandhi family lives with security cover provided by the Government at the cost of exchequer, wasting the taxpayers money. To be fair to their wisdom in wasting public money, Gandhi family made ‘security’ by the government as a status symbol that each and every small time politician started demanding ‘security’ from the government, only to misuse it.
Normally, cowards don’t talk much. More than their talk their words explain their personality. Whatever he is as a person, when talking to his cadre or to the electoral audience one shall rise above himself and attack his opponent. But, it is not the character and the pretension creates more problems.
Buoyed by the cheers from his cadre, in one spur of the moment, Rahul Gandhi blamed RSS to be responsible for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. Maybe it was a bit of over enthusiasm on his part, but for every action there would be a reaction.
Some follower of RSS got hurt (Really in India, people get hurt by words. Had the comment was against Zakir Naik, the clown prince would have been accused of intolerance, but he condemned an organisation that claims to represent the majority and so his comments are not condemned by none except one follower of RSS, who filed a defamation case.
Let’s recognise the fact that on an average ‘public leaders’ of today’s world are not a match to the older generation. We have seen last week the ‘Question Master of India’ Arvind Kejriwal expressed innocence in the court about his remarks against Arun Jaitley. And Muffler Man had a better set of nerves. Rahul Gandhi, instead of proving his remarks are correct in the court of law, choose to plead that the case be quashed. And, with the deep pockets full of money, his lawyers pursued the case up to the Supreme Court.
Finally, Supreme Court felt he should be proving what he said about RSS or apologise. Of course, the Supreme Court wanted to examine whether the allegation of Rahul Gandhi qualifies defamation or not. Now, the court may choose to redefine that accusing someone of assassination may not amount to defame, as it is the prerogative of the court. If and when the court rules so, India would be nearer to Iraq and Syria, for they are the only places, where accusing someone as an assassin is taken as a compliment.
As our court is not filled with judges who don’t’ decide the case on the basis of merit, in all probability, Supreme Court may concur with the plaintiff that the words of Rahul Gandhi amounts to defamation.
Anyway, if a man fears from facing trial in the court of law, on the very words spoken by him, how the hell he is going to face the challenges of being the head of the country? That such a person has a huge following only denotes the fact, how depraved our society has become. A lion would naturally emerge the leader in the jungle. But, if a pack of tigers and lions choose to follow a jackal along with other animals, what would be their interest in selecting the cunning, yet cowardice jackal as their leader? Whose interests such a pack led by the coward serve?
Gone are the days when people voted for Subhash Chandra Bose, even against the dictum of Mahatma Gandhi, recognising his valour. In the present congress, for sure Netaji would be defeated against a nominated contender, who was simply favoured by the first family.
By the progress our prince made in the last one and half decade in the Indian politics, in few more decades, he can be good enough to be declared as prime ministerial candidate. Whether one wins or loses, a leader shall fight and lead his followers in the fight against opponents. But, what was in full display in the Supreme Court was the opposite. The leader turned green, even at the prospect of facing a judicial trial! And he talks of leading the nation.
God Save the Country, from such leaders and his followers.
