A Customer got cheated by a Tour Company, Modi Government ripped the Company apart

So even after 2 years of Modi Government has India changed or is it showing any signs of improvement? This is one question that haunts not just the Modi Government Fans but also neutral observers of Indian Politics. The Mainstream Media of this country works according to agendas generally set by their political masters. And when the news is politically motivated it is either sensationalistic or absurd.  The good works done by the Modi Government is lost in the cacophony of religious clamors and rants of activists turned politicians. We routinely feature Modi Government updates on our website to make sure the common populace of India knows what his country is up to.

One of our followers Shrinidhi Karanth got a rude shock when a Tour and Travel company ruined his plans. Here’s what he wrote:

I was facing problems with a travel agent for not getting my refund even after 3 months and with the help of India Tourism’s new helpline, I could get the refund amount within a week. Was awed by the response of India Tourism and thought would share it with others. Request your help in propagating the good things of Govt of India if you find it suitable.

We, a group of 7, had planned for Lakshadweep cruise trip via www.visitLakshadweep.com (Seagate Holiday Homes). We had made advance payment on Feb 1st itself for April 15th tour and also got confirmation from the Seagate Holiday Homes. Even then, just a day before the journey when we called them they said they forgot to book the package and they will try their best to book it which they failed and we couldn’t go for the cruise even after all the payment and planning.

The real ordeal started after that to get our money back. They delayed the refund. After numerous calls and mails, we got a partial refund by April end. For rest of the payment we had to call and mail almost daily and were assured that the amount will be credited next day which was never done. After around 2 months, the Seagate Holiday Homes stopped responding to our mails and calls.

With no solution in sight, I pinged the Ministry of Tourism on twitter and got a tourism helpline number (1800111363) last week. I called them and they asked me to mail them all the details. I just mailed the details to Mr. Sayak Nandi from India Tourism (sayak.nandi@gov.in). Within a day he forwarded the mail to India Tourism Chennai (indiatourism.chn@nic.in) where Mr. Seetharaman sent a strongly worded mail to Seagate Holiday Homes asking for the reason behind the delay. Today I got the remaining refund amount, within a week of sending the mail. All this, with just one call and one mail to India Tourism. The most surprising thing is that I was not asked for any more details nor my physical presence in any of the government offices was needed. Everything sorted out with just email communication with India Tourism, Seagate Holiday Homes.

Would like to appreciate the new modes of communication and grievance redressal system of Modi Government and timely resolution of issues. Thank you.
