The Social Justices Warriors have struck again. The latest victim of their morbid fascination with mutilating works of art to suit their agenda and satisfy their infantile obsession with forcing the fictional world to conform to their worldview is the Ghostbusters franchise. The makers of the movie, which is a reboot, seemed to have it tailor-made for Tumblr feminists, complete with depressingly unfunny jokes and a caste honey-dipped in diversity.
A general trend has surfaced recently of the fictional world caving in to the most deranged fans of the lot and go out of their way to serve political agendas through their work.
One could say it was inevitable that in an era of political correctness and liberalism, every single aspect of public sphere is transformed into a battleground of ideas and social engineering.
The bells of Doomsday should have started ringing loud and clear when Fox apologized for their poster of the movie X-Men: Apocalypse which showed Jennifer Lawrence’s character being strangulated by the supervillain. The apology came after feminists created a ruckus over the depiction of violence against women. In its apology, Fox stated “In our enthusiasm to show the villainy of the character Apocalypse, we didn’t immediately recognize the upsetting connotation of this image in print form. Once we realized how insensitive it was, we quickly took steps to remove those materials. We apologize for our actions and would never condone violence against women.” Instead of pandering to imbeciles, Fox perhaps should have simply said two words, “Grow up.” It is ridiculous that the makers of a movie should have to apologize for something as innocuous as a movie poster but of course, instead of mustering up courage and standing up for their work, they take the easy way out and apologize to idiots to avoid risking further escalation of a non-issue.
The demands of the imbeciles haven’t ended at an apology however. Not too long ago, a hashtag trended for quite a while on Twitter which demanded that Marvel Superhero Captain America be given a boyfriend.
Of course, why should anyone care about the fact that Captain America has not exhibited the remotest sign of homosexuality thus far? Why should anyone care about the fact that if Captain America were to be given a boyfriend, it would violate the character we have come to love? But of course, in the quest for diversity, mutilation of a beloved character is perfectly acceptable. It would do us well to remember that the same breed of individuals demanded a female James Bond as well, which would be another travesty of a legendary character.
More than the infantile demands of the imbeciles is the constant pandering that artists subject themselves to. The legendary author, J.K.Rowling went so far as to assert that Hermione Granger’s race was not specified in the novels, against all evidence, for the mere sake of jumping on the bandwagon of social diversity when one dramatical adaptation of the Harry Potter world depicted Hermione as a Black woman. It’s not Hermione’s race which is the real issue here, the issue here is the mutilation of great fictional characters just to further a political agenda that is revolting.
Marvel is doing a remarkable job of furthering the social diversity propaganda as well as serving political agendas straight up unabashedly. Recently, Marvel has announced that the new Iron Man would be a Black teenage girl. Although they might deny any external influence for their decision, it’s not too hard to assume the reasons behind their choice of the new Iron Man. Marvel has went a step further and made Justin Trudeau, arguably the first Social Justice Warrior to lead a country, a superhero in one of its comics. It’s hard to see Justin Trudeau, who thinks killing your enemies makes them win, will want to use the boxing gloves he is shown wearing in the depiction of him in the comics. It’s quite clear that the real Justin Trudeau wouldn’t resort to violence even if he had robbers at his home murdering his family, hence, it seems desperate of Marvel to give him an image makeover, a laughable one in fact.
Marvel went ahead and even made Donald Trump a supervillain (M.O.D.A.A.K.), a xenophobic bigot who hates foreigners and wants to crush Captain America. Edward Bernays, the father of Public Relations, once remarked that the American Motion Pictures was the biggest vessel of propaganda and one look at Marvel’s latest antics and you realize that like a lot of other things, he was right on this one as well.
A show that has refused to pander to the imbeciles amidst us and deserves a special mention for it is of course Game of Thrones.
Game of Thrones came under a lot of fire from deranged feminists who complained about ‘glorification of rape’ when Sansa Stark was raped by Ramsey Bolton in an episode last season.
And unlike so many of their counterparts who always seem overeager to bend over backwards to accommodate the insanities of Leftist idiots, the makers of Game of Thrones offered no apology to the deluded feminists in response to the allegations. It’s high time that creative arts refuses to indulge deluded Leftists in their delusions or great works of art will not survive the mutilations the other side tries to inflict on them.
