Dear Self-loathing Indians, India is Great, it has always been

India Indian

Few days back, boxing great Muhammad Ali left the mortal world. There were many tributes. I also liked him – for his guts. Now, we have a creed of ‘Self-Hating Indians with Slavish Mentality’, who suffer from from a sort of obsession to denigrate that is essentially – Indian. One intellectual suffering from the same disorder was under a Peepal tree and, obviously was in high spirits, may be of Mallya kind had felt that ‘Legends of India like Sachin, Dhoni and Kohli comes nowhere near to the Boxing great’.

As I’m also a bit spiritual guy, though in a totally different sense and meaning, I had to find out many more so called Indian greats who are in fact not worth emulating.

Here is the list:

  1. Mahatma Gandhi: While George Washington had to fight and kill lots of native Indians (this is the biggest irony everything that was decimated or would be decimated is related to India). Gandhi’s task was relatively easier. He simply had to fast and stop cooperating with the Brits.
  1. Partition of Germany and India: Hitler had to kill three million jews. Consider the massive task of taking so many lives and logistics involved. In India, all it took was a simple declaration that India would be divided. People took into their hands – I mean the business of killing themselves and in only one year! (Remember the great Furher needed years)
  1. Prime Minister of India -vs- President of America: Whenever POTUS preaches for ‘Peaceful World’ and ‘Nuclear Disarmament’, consider the amount of stress he is subjected to feign the messiah that he is not. With the baggage of the only ‘Nuclear attack on humans’ and the blood of all those millions of Arabs, Vietnamese make it difficult for him to talk about ‘Peace’ in this world. For PmoI, whose country was always a victim (almost like the Temple Bell), talking on these topics is easier
  1. Opposition Parties: It is difficult for the opposition parties in US to criticise any schemes that are primarily American. Consider this with ‘Make in India’ being mocked by Tom, Dick and Harry of Indian politics. Even Opposition parties in India comes nowhere close to those of US.
  1. Michael Jackson -vs- Rajnikant: Consider the hateful atmosphere in US that forced the ‘King of Pop’ had to undergo many operations and get that golden skin to become legend. On the other hand, we have Rajnikant, still black and bald, but loved by Tamils, who are so possessive about their own culture. It is a cakewalk for Rajni.
  1. Hillary Clinton -vs- Sonia Gandhi: Hillary lost once within the party to, of all – Obama, who looks like a family man. Hillary had to deal and answer all those sexcapades of Bill, the bull. She had many detractors within her party. Consider this with the clean image of Rajiv Gandhi and the sycophants that congress leaders are! Sonia got the power offered in a golden plate.
  1. Neighbours: It is really difficult for US to explain why the hell they have developed these many arms, including the notorious nuclear arsenal, when all they have surrounding them were peaceful neighbours. For India, explanation is really easy, for even Nepal is against India – and that is supposed to be the friendliest neighbouring nation, we have.
  1. Religious Freedom: Now, for any migrant belonging to other faith, it is necessary to adapt the unofficial religion of US. Many Indians who became senators and occupied other positions had to convert! Consider the amount of ‘brazenness’ that would be needed to preach ‘Religious Tolerance’ to India that had Muslims being Presidents, a Sikh as PM and a Christian as the most powerful ruler of recent times!
  1. Robert Oppenheimer -v- Abdul Kalam: Robert Oppenheimer had to quote from ‘Bhagavad Gita’ because there were no ancient American scriptures to quote from. On the opposite, we have Abdul Kalam, who had the biggest repository of ancient scriptures of India. Consider the efforts of Oppenheimer, who mastered the foreign scripture, for he had to learn Sanskrit – a language that belonged to another era of another country!
  1. Again Mahatma Gandhi -vs- the Queen of England: Our old man used to roam half-naked. And the Queen, could never go for a sun bath, despite all her subjects could do so, without worrying about the paparazzi. And we consider Gandhi was great and made him father of nation, for his simple attire!

Yes, Indians come nowhere near to the world greats.

But, I still remember one small sportsman from India, named Dhyan Chand Singh, employed with Indian Army, famously refused the offer by the Fuhrer, after the only public humiliation that was served to the ‘Aryan Supremacy’ theory eulogised by Adolf.

Of course, I am no fan of Sachin. I, personally was and is a fan of Rahul. And I don’t want my son to emulate any of the cricketers. But, does it give me a right to denigrate them? Have they reached where they are, without talent and hardwork?

Story at the end that I witnessed some years ago:

Production Manager: Nowadays, it is easier to you young engineers. When I was a trainee, there were no automation systems and we had to control the plant all by ourselves, constantly monitoring the parameters and taking actions. That is the reason how we came to know more about the process.

New Engineer: My father studied under kerosene lantern. But, he never thought I also should study under same lantern. He got the house electrified and I studied in the light from a tube.

Moral of the Story: I leave it to the wisdom and interpretation of the readers.

And DailyO should consider this article as a rebuttal to their half baked idiotic piece – http://www.dailyo.in/sports/muhammad-ali-cassius-clay-racism-joe-frazier-george-foreman-vietnam-war/story/1/11042.html
