Modi in Tamil Nadu: Mera koi Italy me nahi rahta and other Punches

Modi in Tamil Nadu

Modi in Tamil Nadu – Glimpses of BJP’s Prime Minister Candidate were visible again in Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he campaigned in Hosur and Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He told the people of Tamil Nadu to break free of the conventional political parties and look for a third alternative which has emerged in front of people in the form of Bharatiya Janata Party. Modi Urged people of the state to vote for BJP, and assured to take the state to newer heights of development.

Modi in Tamil Nadu: Why BJP is the right alternative for the people of Tamil Nadu?

Modi emphasized on the clean image of his party, and said that upcoming state elections were all about protecting Tamil Nadu from the vicious trap of corruption that the state parties have indulged in. He said that Tamil Nadu has been gripped in corruption and the aim of BJP is to unshackle it from corruption. Modi said that India cannot prosper without a prosperous Tamil Nadu where the youth gets opportunities.

Modi in Tamil Nadu: Emphasizing on the welfare of the poor

The Prime Minister highlighted the several initiatives of the NDA Government at Centre which are solely aimed at the welfare and upliftment of the poor. He said “Earlier poor farmers had to purchase urea from the black marketers. But now the equation has changed. We took the decision of neem-coating urea and that has benefitted the farmers greatly”. He also mentioned about removal of interviews for Group C, D and non-gazetted government jobs that would benefit the youth in large numbers.

Modi in Tamil Nadu: Emphasizing on entrepreneurship and social responsibility

PM Modi spoke about the Mudra Yojana, Start-Up India and Stand-Up India that were beginning to write a brand new chapter of entrepreneurship in India. He said that a remarkable change is visible in the lives of several budding entrepreneurs in the country. He also emphasized on how the ‘Give it Up’ campaign was a massive success where over a crore people gave up their LPG subsidy willingly. He called it an example of supreme societal transformation.

Modi in Tamil Nadu: 2G and Coalgate Scam

Modi talked at length about the 2G spectrum scam. He mentioned about how it involved politicians from prominent parties. He said their prominent leaders were using Technology for 2G Scam while BJP’s prominent leaders are using Technology for Digital India. Therein lies the difference. Modi also talked about the transparency in coal block allocation and how the money from the recent coal auctions have been utilised to serve the poorest of the poor, unlike the past when money was looted.

Modi in Tamil Nadu: AgustaWestland

Again reminiscent of the Modi’s campaign in General Elections of 2014, Modi let people answer his “simple” questions when he asked people if their kin stay in Italy. After a resounding No from the Public, he confessed that he doesn’t have anyone in Italy either. He said “Even Italian courts have specified that preceding UPA government was found involved in chopper scam and brazen corruption. And now that Modi is tightening the screw, they are rattled. He again asked people if the ones involved in the scam should be punished. The answer was resounding yes this time. This was Modi’s way of responding to the Congress who said in Parliament that specifications to the order of the VVIP helicopters were made under the NDA government, and not under the UPA.

Modi in Tamil Nadu has set the stage for an interesting fight ahead. Although it will be extremely optimistic to say that BJP will win or even be a major player in the Southern state but I am sure the major parties must be sweating it out hard in their thinking chambers after the massive rally in Hosur.
