Modi Fake Degree Row: The Timing
When BJP was tearing Congress asunder in the AgustaWestland Case, Arvind Kejriwal stormed into the scene with the Modi Fake Degree claim. He said “There are allegations that Narendra Modi does not have any degree. The people of the country want to know the truth. Despite that you have refused to make records regarding Modi’s educational qualifications public. Why did you do this? This is wrong.”
The CIC hence directed Delhi and Gujarat University, the varsities mentioned in Modi’s 2014 Declaration to make his educational record public.

Acting upon the CIC directive, Gujarat University’s Vice Chancellor M N Patel shared Modi’s academic details:
“Narendra Damodardas Modi passed his MA in Political Science in 1983 with first class, securing 499 out of 800 marks, which comes to 62.3 per cent as an external student,”
Modi Fake Degree Row: The Second Round
Even a simpleton would understand the fact that a Masters Degree can only be obtained after a person successfully completes his graduation. But the Master of Conspiracy theories that Arvind Kejriwal is, started weaving another untruth that Modi never attended a Bachelors Program at the Delhi University. Aam Aadmi Party has a sizeable presence on the social Media and probably has more paid trolls working for it than any other party in India. In last few days we saw a number of Fake Social Media Trends, orchestrated by the Aam Aadmi Party. All the trends maligned PM Modi over his ‘alleged’ fake degrees. We have to give it to Kejriwal, his tricks worked after all. And he forced a reticent BJP to hold a Press Conference.
Modi Fake Degree Row: BJP’s Defense
The Bharatiya Janata Party put up a strong defence of PM Narendra Modi today, in the controversy concerning alleged fake degrees. BJP produced Narendra Modi’s degrees which clearly attest to the fact that he DID complete his graduation from Delhi University.
Amit Shah, the president of BJP said “I want to request the media not to put baseless allegations in front of the people”
Jaitley hit out at the AAP supremo, saying, “Without checking any facts, it is public discourse at its lowest level. This comes from a political party that has several MLAs who are being prosecuted for fake degrees.”
Amit Shah demanded that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal apologise to the country.
Modi Fake Degree Row: The Name Mismatch
Again even a simpleton would walk out of a controversy like this, when cornered. But not Kejriwal, Kejriwal loves fighting in mud like the proverbial pig which actually enjoys the muck. Aam Aadmi Party sent its “top” leader, Ashutosh to up the ante. Ashutosh claimed that the documents shown by Amit Shah and Arun Jaitley earlier in the day are “forged” because the Prime Minister’s name is different in BA and MA degrees. This is funny as it comes from a man without Surname. Surname/Last Name, as you know is a ‘mandatory’ field in all forms, even the ones on the internet. I am not too sure if Ashutosh was born without a Surname or he is the McLovin’ of his make-believe Superbad. Clerical Mistakes in marksheets are so commonplace that they seem a part of the process. I remember my cousin’s religious pilgrimages to the Bihar Intermediate Education Council to get an extra ‘A’ removed from his name (He was born Akash, BIEC christened him Akaash). To conspiracy seekers, everything in this world is conspiracy. And for conspiracy seekers with vested interest, well this serious business.

Ashutosh also asked this million dollar question “When the mark-sheet shows the year 1977, how can the degree issued mention it as 1978?”
A person can flunk in papers. I flunked too in my Engineering Course, so did many of my batch mates, most of whom are writing code for Fortune 500 companies across the globe. Luckily I escaped a year back. It is not a criminal offense.
Modi Fake Degree Row: The failed Ploy
Let us be fair to AAP again. It is perfectly normal to question people. Oath of office on a forged degree is a serious offense and no one should be spared. But common sense tells me, a good research, strong evidences and irrefutable proofs are the minimum prerequisites before launching a full throttle attack. AAP of course didn’t do their homework and instead of reaching the right authorities, they reached people. Most of whom are ill-informed and are there on Social Media for some fun. It was a grand success as far as SM collections are concerned, but on a realistic platform, in front of the right authorities, this case will be dismissed as an absurd rant, the bickering of an exasperated soul or worse, the failed manoeuvres of an unprincipled politician.
Modi Fake Degree Row: What BJP should do?
Now as far as BJP is concerned, they did what AAP wanted them to. Their focus should have been AgustaWestland where Congress finds itself completely trapped. But they gave news traders the perfect opportunity to disregard Congress and their Chopper scam. Also with the press conference, they actually gave undue importance to Arvind Kejriwal, a man who thrives on Media Bytes. Now that they have started this, they must take it to its logical conclusion. Arvind Kejriwal is a charlatan and he mustn’t be spared. His IIT rank is under a quilt of doubt, his IRS commissioner status has been rejected by the concerned Body. Many of his legislators are proven thugs. BJP must go on the offensive to strike down upon AAP and its legislators. A defamation suit of course is the need of the hour. But AAP must also be charged for perjury and misleading people.
